People request Saihara a lot so here!!! I like this a lot!!
---I know it's ridiculous, I really do. But for some reason, every time I close my eyes to sleep, I envision a prince on a white horse coming to save me. I'm perfectly capable of taking care of myself, I know that. But everything about my life is repetitive, coursing through a continuous cycle without a foreseeable end. I should grow out of my moping considering I'm a teenager now, but there's nothing I can do- it's part of who I am now.
And so, I found my eyelids drooping in world history class- as they always did. I said goodbye to the Chinese dynasties, saying hello to him again. My prince. Standing just across the river, holding a rope tied to his beautiful white horse. The same scenario happens for the millionth time- I run out to catch him, but I always jolt awake just before I can reach him.
"Wake up!" My teacher yelled, causing my classmates to snicker at me. I jolt awake, muttering out a small apology. See- it always happens to me. No matter how long I sleep, I never meet him. It's like fate is trying to rip us away from each other.
The day finished, and I found myself laying in my bed in order to go to sleep in no time. I stared blankly at the ceiling, my vision growing grander by the second. As my eyelids dropped, I made a silent prayer that I would be able to meet him again.
And thus, I was met with the same scenario as usual. I sprinted to catch him as usual, my legs growing damp with the water they were trudging through. I extended my arm out to reach to him, expecting my alarm to go off just before I could touch him.
But no, this time was different. Instead of waking up, I found myself grabbing his arm. He turned to look at me, a shocked expression on his face. Despite being clad in a white suit and golden crown, he had short black hair, hazel eyes, and ghostly pale skin. Though his appearance was unconventional, it did not disappoint.
I heard my alarm go off, signifying that the dream was about to end. I smiled at my prince, opening my mouth to utter a few words to him; "I've finally caught you."
----
I headed to school as usual, in a slightly better mood because of my dream. Though it seemed trivial and pointless, it felt good to have a different conclusion to my recurring dream than that I was used to. I sat down in my first period, a small smile sitting on my lips.
"Good morning class," the teacher greeted us, shuffling papers at their podium. "Today, we have a new student. His name is Shuuichi Saihara."
The new student walked in, and I found myself at a loss for words. Pale skin, black hair, hazel eyes. He was the boy from my dream-- my prince. I let out a small gasp as he stood next to the teacher, eyes stuck to the floor.
"Good to meet you all.." the boy muttered, not looking up from his feet. I covered my mouth, still unsure of how to react.
"Very good, Saihara. How about you sit next to (y/n) over there?" The teacher pointed to the desk beside me, which was conveniently vacant. The boy looked up from his feet and focused on me, his hazel eyes suddenly widening. He nodded to the teacher, wordlessly slipping into the seat next to me.
The second the bell rang for class to end, the boy suddenly tapped me on my shoulder. I turned to him and blushed, my heart pounding in my chest.
"Hello!" I smiled, trying to mask my nervousness. "You're Saihara, right? Welcome to our school!"
"You're (y/n)... thank you for the welcome," he murmured in a high voice, which made my heart pound harder. He stood up from his desk, about to leave.
"Wait," I called, catching his attention. "Listen... this is going to sound ridiculous, but... I had a dream about someone who looked like you last night."
"Really?" He asked, his face showing signs of shock. "...to be perfectly honest, I had a similar one about someone who looked like you."
"Huh? What was it about?!"
"Well... you were running towards me," he explained. "For some reason, I had a white horse in my hand. Just before I was about to wake up, you touched my shoulder, and said that you 'finally caught' me. Weird, right?"
My eyes widened even more, a throbbing starting in my chest. "No... no..." I muttered softly.
"Huh? What's wrong?" He asked in concern.
"You won't believe me, Saihara-Kun," I shook my head. "But.. I've had recurring dreams about a prince with a white horse standing across a river. And only last night, in my dream, was I able to reach him."
"That's.. freaky," he laughed nervously. "But we must be connected somehow."
"No kidding," I giggled, a blush forming on my cheeks. I snapped it of my embarrassment, trying to diffuse the awkwardness. "What's your next class?"
"World history," he muttered in response.
"Eh? The same as me again! Can I walk you?" I asked in shock.
"Yeah, I would like that," he agreed as he blushed. I stood up from my desk and walked out of the room, walking down the crowded halls until we met the history room.
"You ready to go in?" I asked him as we stood at the doorway.
"Actually..." he shook his head, suddenly grabbing my hand. I turned bright pink as he pulled me across the hallway, the other students staring at us.
"What are you doing? We will be late!" I yelled angrily.
"I'm rescuing you," he smiled in determination.
"What? Why? You can't do that!"
"Only for a day, darling," he reassured me.
"D-darling?" I stammered, following him outside the school.
"Well, of course," he responded. "You are my princess, after all. It's about time I give you what you've wanted for so long."
