Hayden woke up when he felt somebody shaking him. He blink the tiredness away and look up to see Reinne's brother, he guessed was Adrian, standing beside him.
"Paps, wants to talk to you," Adriana said before leaving him. "He'll be in his study. He told me you know where it is?"
"Yeah," Hayden nod and slowly pry Reinne's arms around him. He place a pillow in replace and a smile form in his place when he saw Reinne snuggled closer to the pillow.
Hayden stretch out his stiff muscles before heading towards the study. It must be the same room Reinne brought them when he and his father gave her the will.
Hayden stood in front of the door while calming himself. Damn, he was never nervous, even standing in a room filled with arrogant board members. But, this ones different. Hayden took a very deep breath before knocking.
"Come in," He heard the loud voice of Reinne's father boom.
Hayden kept a neutral face and enter. He saw Amado sitting behind his desk while his wife sat in front of him drinking tea and the two brothers on each side. If they were trying to intimidate him, its working.
"Good evening," Hayden started.
"What is it that you wanted to talk to us?" Amado pointed out.
Hayden place his sweaty hands inside his pocket so that they won't notice it's shaking. "I wanted to have your permission to court your daughter."
"Why?" Reinne's youngest brother asked. "I mean, you could just date her and be quiet. Why do you have to ask?"
"Reinne deserves the best. I want to date her and court her with your permission."
"What's your reason?" Adrian asked.
"Excuse me?"
"The last time my sister was in a relationship, the bastard cheated on her. There's got to be a reason why you want our permission to court her."
"I want to be honest with you. Reinne doesn't know that I'm here at the moment having this conversation with her family. I like your daughter, sir. I really do. And I know we just met about two months ago but in that short time I get to know your daughter. I know her family will always be her first priority. She always tend to digress. She's the most passionate woman I know. You did well in raising a really smart, kind, hardworking and pretty woman," Hayden poured out everything he had in front of them. Hayden tried to read their expression but they all maintained their stoic expressions.
"Are you really that serious with her?" Grace asked Hayden.
"Very."
"What do you think, Ivy?" Amado asked.
Ivy? Hayden turn to see Reinne standing right behind him with tears. "How long have you been standing there?"
"Long enough," Reinne said with a hoarse tone. She turn to her parents. "Ma, pa, I would really appreciate it if you allow us."
"I don't know, Ivy. The last time we talked, which was during your birthday, you were crying because of him," Her father said.
"It was him?" Cj said, fuming with range.
