Crimson lipstick
A scarlet kiss
A girl strides with the sway of an alcoholic
Her six inch heels tap the asphalt with a click
Smoke leaves cracked lips
Blank eyes watch as into the night sky it drifts
Another cigarette, another fix
In the dark she comes to life
Another night,
Another man
She stumbles to the side
Tripping on more than just a crack in the concrete
A pasted on smile
It falters in the dim light
The only sign of inner turmoil
No one ever wonders why
No one really knows what she's like
On the inside
They can't see her cry
The world can't see what she hides
Behind,
That fake smile
Everyday is her own personal hell
Every word is a fight,
A battle of another kind
She's the girl your mother tells you is no good
She belongs nowhere,
And she goes places no sane person should
A walking one night stand
A lost and broken soul with no future planned
Finding no solace in any one man
No one cares for her mind, a bottle blonde body is the only thing on demand
A wanderer under flickering city lamps
A pair of lips find their way to another shot
She forces herself not to gag at a groping hand
Suddenly the smokey room has become too hot
She's suffocating
Drowning with rocks tied to her feet
Her tinted lips no longer seem
Like such a pretty painting
That pill now doesn't look so innocent and pink
But she takes it anyway
The rain is pouring
And tears are rolling down her face
Skin gleaming a sickly sheen
Hair curled and bleached,
Now loose and dangling
Red lips once tinted so perfectly,
Have become smudged from clumsy, thoughtless kissing
She's chained to her life
Incapable of being free
She's everything that's wrong with society
But for some reason she's what everyone wants to be
She's the girl that no one really sees
But she's also the girl living,
Inside of you and me.Inspired by,
