Just Another Day at the Beach

Coffee

I drove up to the gas station and saw Janeeva's car parked up front so i decided to park mine on the slot right beside hers. I got down, locked my car, and took a glance at my watch. "Five minutes early. Starting your day right, Maine." I said giving myself a pat on the back. I looked inside Jan's slightly tinted window but saw that she wasn't there. I took a deep breath and looked around to see if Jan was just messing with me. Then my eyes caught sight of a Starbucks branch and hit myself on the forehead. "Of course naman diba. What's a trip without coffee for Janeeva?" I said aloud to myself. I walked up to the shop and saw my Jan ordering her ordinary cup of caffeine. I walked up to her and tapped her shoulder. "Hoy. Kanina pa kitang hinahanap, nandito ka lang pala." I said. "Maine! Na miss kita!" She said Hugging me. Then i realized it's been a while since iv'e seen my best friend. "So ano naman ang naisip mo at bakit ka napa beach ngayon?" she asked me curiously. "Wala naman. Wala lang kasi akong magawa sa bahay and i wanted to do something fun naman. And why not spend it with my lovely best friend!" I said pointing to my no doubt, lovely best friend. "Lakas namang mambola nito. Sige na tara na. Para di tayo gabihin." She said as we walked out the door together.

We walked to our cars wearing the most casual outfits. "Alam ba ni Mico na aalis ka ngayon? Baka mag tampo yun." I asked. Mico was Janeeva's boyfriend. I only met him thrice, but he was a nice guy. Perfect for Janeeva. "Oo naman. Alam niya naman kung gaano kang importante sakin eh." It was her turn to tease, and i just laughed. "Eh ikaw? Wala paring boyfriend?" she asked. "Di mo naman kailangan i remind saken. Wala, wala paren.". "Ok lang yun noh. Dadating at dadating din yan. Alam ko. Trust me." she replied.
