Just Another Day at the Beach

Roadtrip

I stood up from the sofa and folded the sheets. "Love, tumayo ka na. We're going to Manila." I claimed. "What?" "Yeah! Let's have lunch at my place, sa Bulacan, so you can meet my family. Come on! Stand up sleepyhead! Para maaga tayong makakadating." I said. "Okay. I'm ready to meet the family of the most beautiful human being on earth." He said confidently. I laughed. "But can we meet yours too?" I begged.

I ran upstairs and grabbed my phone and called mi' mum on skype.

"Hello ma! Pupunta kami ni RJ dyan for lunch."

"Sige. Anong gusto mong ihanda namin?"

"Kahit ano po."

"Ok nak. Niki! Coleen! Nico! Bumaba kayo dito! Kausapin nyo tong kapatid nyo!" Nay called my siblings that were upstairs. Before i knew it, my family was on the screen right in front of me, and i knew i missed them.

"Meeeenngg! Ikaw talaga! Bumo boyfriend ka na ah!" My older sister Coleen teased.

"Sinagot mo na pala?" Mom asked innocently. And my siblings faced her and nodded

"Ano ka ba ate! Asan si Dean?" I asked about our bunso.

"As usual. Ka date si Shen." My kuya Nico replied.

"Hala grabe noh, kuya! Si bunsoy, gume girlfriend na!" I laughed. "Aga aga may date na agad!"

"Sus ikaw nga dyan eh. Nakita ko kaya yung mga tweet mo! Tsaka yung picture nyo ni RJ, and cute!" My eldest ate Niki squealed.

"Anong picture yon?" I heard Tatay from a far.

"Picture nilang dalawa ni RJ, tay." Ate Niki answered. There was silence for a while as they were staring at tatay and nanay finally said "Grabe naman Teo! Minsan lang magka boyfriend tong si Menggay! Pagbigyan mo na!"

"Hello Tay! Miss na miss ko na kayo dyan." I said looking for my tatay.

"Oh Meng! Pumunta na kayo dito. Gusto ko nang makilala yung RJ na yan. Asan na ba sya?"

"Naliligo. Nako, Tay dapat maligo na rin ako. Aalis na po kami. Matagal pa po biyahe."

"Sige babye nak." Tatay said. "Bye Menggay!" My siblings said in chorus.

"Babye! Mahal na mahal ko kayo!" I said sending a flying kiss.

I ran to the bathroom and took a ten minute bath. I wore an Oversized Christiano Ronaldo jersey and high waisted shorts. I'm not really a fan of football but my mom got it for me from her and dad's trip to Portugal a couple years back. Then i stuffed my phone, wallet, my kit, and other stuff in the new backpack i bought in Forever 21 to top off my sporty look. When i finished getting ready, i got my phone and scrolled through my twitter again. Only then did i see my friends' replies.

I laughed then decided to go to our group chat to tell them the news.

Not today tho. Leaving Batangas in a bit otw to Bulacan so he can meet the fam.

Then i turned off my phone. Janeeva could explain for me. I walked toward RJ's room and his door was half opened. I knocked but didn't wait for a reply and i walked in seeing a shirtless RJ walking around the room with a couple shirts in his hands. "Oh! You're ready na?" He asked. "Kanina pa actually. Tagal mo.". "Wait lang almost done. What should i wear?". "Anything really. Style mo yan. Anything looks good on you anyways.". He ended up wearing shirt but with a hoodie on top. "Ok na ba?". "Yeah. You look good." I said. We walked to the car as i held his arm and i offered to drive, but he said no, the right gentleman thing to do. I connected my phone to the car's sound system through bluetooth and pumped it up loud. The drive will be long, but i don't mind as long as i'm with him.
