It was my first day back to work, I really wasn't feeling it. Walking into the hospital didn't feel as liberating to me, and I still felt like no one trusted me. Walking into the break room, I saw the fellas.

"You alright man?" Luke asked patting my back.

"Yea, trying." I gave a small smile to stop them from asking questions on the topic again.

"Why is ya skin glowing like that my brotha? What moisturizer you been using?" Woody looked at me.

"Yea, ya skin looking a little too clear." Algee chimed in.

"I know I don't see the mustache peaking through! Oh shit!" Luke yelled, all the guys pushed me around while laughing. I missed my friends and the laughs.

"Keith been getting that muah from the mrs." Luke chuckled.

"Chill y'all, she got the thing on lock for real now." I blushed just thinking about Mila.

"She got my man blushing!" Elijah and Algee said at the same time.

"Is it good?" Luke looked at me.

"Hell yea." We all laughed and cracked jokes for a more minutes until it was time to start my work day.

I didn't feel like I deserved to wear this white coat, my job was to save, protect, and deliver, yet I couldn't seem to do that.

I checked my listings for the day, I had a couple check-ups, but no surgeries and for that I was grateful. My mind definitely wasn't ready for it.

I went to see my first patient, a sixteen year old single mother, named Miracle.

Walking into the room she was asleep, with the television on and a lollipop in her hand. At first glance she looked very innocent, I wondered why her parents weren't here, and why she was pregnant.

Slowly I removed the lollipop from her hand, setting it straight to take her blood pressure. She began to move in her sleep, "If you move a lot it'll hurt more." I whispered, writing down her results.

"Hi. Are you my doctor now?" I gave her a small smile, "Yup."

I went over her chart again, "Do you have any family, you're parents?"

"My parents disowned me once they found how the baby happened." She sighed.

"If you don't mind me asking-"

"I was uh- raped."

What kind of parent would leave their child at a time like this? She needed more than ever now and they just up and left, leaving her to fend for herself.

"Do you have anyone to stay with?" I asked checking her IV, and keeping my real thoughts to myself.

"They are making me give the baby to my aunt, then they'll let me back home. But I don't want to, I-- I wanna keep my baby." She started tearing up.
