Chapter Eleven

Dhairya's P.O.V.

"Don't do that again. I was really scared that you were gone..."

I felt him squeeze a little tighter and I felt really bad for agreeing to Vincent's stupid plan. He had sprayed some perfume on me right when we got into the store so that I wouldn't smell. I remembered from our talk that werewolves were really sensitive to smell. After that, he rushed me in a wig and some clothes and paid for the clothes when they were on me. And then all I had to do was pretend that I didn't know him and wait until Kaelen had left the store to leave and go back into the office.

But, now I regret everything because he actually got really scared and that somehow warmed my heart. I slowly reached my hands around his body and grasped his shirt because my arms were too short to completely reach around him. After a few minutes, he finally pulled away and I reached up to my neck and looked at the necklace he had put around me.

It was a really simple, but very pretty necklace. The engraving read 'Beautiful' and I have to admit that I blushed. He thought I was beautiful when he was way more beautiful than I am and ever will be.

*I'm sorry. Thank you.*

"For what?"

*I'm sorry for making you worry. And thank you for the necklace, it's really beautiful, even if it does lie.*

"Of course it isn't. I don't lie. You are definitely beautiful, Dhairya, inside and out. Don't forget that, please."

A laugh sounded from the other side of the room and we both turned around to see Vincent being a meanie. He was laughing so hard that he had to squat down to keep from falling over. His hands were on his stomach and tears were streaming down his face. I raised an eyebrow questioningly and Kaelen glared at him.

"I'm sorry for ruining your moment, but it's just that...Kaelen never says anything as cheesy as that! This is the first time I've ever seen it and it's just so refreshing!"

I blushed even harder and Kaelen growled lowly before walking over to Vincent. He easily picked Vincent up and threw him outside. He slammed the door shut and I winced at the loud sound. As Kaelen turned around, I gave him a questioning glance. He blushed slightly, making me squeal a little internally, and shrugged his shoulders.

*Did you have to throw him out like that?*

Kaelen pouted and nodded. The fact that he pouted at me made my heart melt already, it was way too cute. I wonder how his parents survived when he was younger and he was pouty all the time. Wait, was he pouty?

"Yes. I did have to do that. He was getting really annoying. I mean, all I wanted to do was spend some time with you, but he took you away. And if that wasn't bad enough, he decided that it would be a good idea to make you dress like a girl to prank me. It was a really stupid prank."

I grimaced when he mentioned the joke. I still felt really guilty for agreeing. Kaelen must have noticed because he sat down next to me and put his arm around my shoulders. He squeezed me slightly and I felt strangely reassured.

"Hey, don't worry about it. I don't blame you. I blame Vincent. It's not your fault, it's Vincent's. It was because I hadn't been paying attention to him lately so he wanted to play a game with me. Honestly, I'm sorry that you got dragged into this. Where are your regular clothes?"

I blushed even harder. Vincent still had them. I was against him putting me into girl clothes and my reason was all the scars that adorned my leg, but he gave me some concealer so I couldn't use that reason anymore. I was stuck wearing them. He took my clothes because he didn't want me to change back into them when he wasn't looking, or something like that.

*Vincent has them...*

Kaelen groaned and stood up, ready to go get my clothes, when a knock sounded at the door. A high sound resonated from the outside and it gave me a little bit of the shivers. Kaelen raised one of his eyebrows and I started to back away even further from the door.

He sighed loudly and opened the door. I think he could smell the person from behind the door. Vincent did say that werewolves had a strong sense of smell after all, maybe it was a person he didn't especially like?

"Hey, babe! Did you miss me?"

I turned over to the voice and froze when I saw the girl that had passed me in the hall that one day. Thank god she hadn't seen me yet. I rushed to put on my wig again and sighed in relief when I had somehow managed to get it on before she turned over to me. The look in her eyes was one of an animal. It looked like she was really angry at seeing someone else in Kaelen's office.

"Emily, I have already talked to you about this. I am not your 'babe.' Do kindly refrain from calling me that otherwise there will be harsher consequences."

"Awww, is that girl your next hook-up?"

Kaelen looked confused and turned back at me. He saw that I had the wig on and the confusion turned into understanding. He nodded at Emily and she grinned maliciously.

"How about we have a threesome then? Your new bitch and I can surely satisfy you, can't we?"

I whimpered a bit when I was called a bitch, that hit a little too close to home. Or where home used to be.

"Emily, hell no. I have already told you, I have no plan of getting back together with you and I do regret the one hook-up we had. Why don't you get off our backs and go back to your internship?"

I could see her face slowly morphing into rage and when she raised her hand, I stood up and ran in front of Kaelen. I probably couldn't shield him well, but at least it could be something. Her hand swung down and right into my face. Her nails were long and they caught onto the skin of my face, creating long gashes that began bleeding.

"Ow..."
