I'm changing the P.O.V. thing, so there will now be no more point of view from a character themselves. <3

Chapter Twenty-Five:

Kaelen and Dhairya had had a fun day at the office, albeit the fact that Kaelen hadn't managed to get much done. He was too busy looking at Dhairya sitting on the chair in front of him and drawing. Dhairya, of course, had been looking at Kaelen too, but for a completely different reason. He was trying to capture every single perfect feature that Kaelen had on his perfect face.

Vincent had come over to visit every so often, capturing Dhairya in his arms and pressing kisses over Dhairya's face. Kaelen no longer minded how touchy-feely the two were as he knew from before, Vincent was just naturally touchy. Besides, he had to begin remembering that Vincent had a cousin, he wasn't just his friend, his Beta, but now Vincent was his mate's cousin as well.

The day passed by quickly as the two were having fun in the office. Dhairya would sometimes crawl underneath the table just to pop out right under Kaelen. He would press a kiss to Kaelen's lips and when asked why, Dhairya would simply respond with stressed.

Of course, Dhairya's father had come in, once in a while, and every time Dhairya's playful mood would decline, but they had a fun day regardless. The small jokes, the shared kisses, the cuddles, and the shy giggles that came out whenever Dhairya would catch Kaelen looking at him made the day one of the best days ever.

But, it was time to go home. Every good thing had to come to an end eventually, and the end of their day was night time. Kaelen turned over to see an already sleeping Dhairya on the bed and he chuckled softly underneath his breath. He didn't want to wake Dhairya up, but it really was time to go back to his mom's house as Dhairya still wasn't as comfortable sleeping in the pack house. They had decided on two nights at the pack house, three nights at his mom's and to continue to alternate like that. Eventually, Dhairya would move completely into the pack house and it would be a lot easier, but for now, Kaelen didn't mind the extra miles.

"Dhairya, Angel, you have to wake up, it's time to go back," Kaelen tried. He shook Dhairya's small frame lightly, knowing that if he shook too hard, it would hurt Dhairya badly. Dhairya's eyes barely fluttered opened before he groaned, raising his eyes to cover them.

A sleepy mumble ensued from Dhairya's mouth, "Don't wanna...sleep.."

And Kaelen would follow his demands. If Dhairya was tired, and he was actually voicing that out, Kaelen didn't care what was happening, he would make sure that Dhairya would be put to bed. It was that simple. He cared for Dhairya way too much at the point, and now he knew what the other mated couples in his pack felt. Love, protectiveness, happiness, and a desire to keep them happy and well at all times, not just physical wise.

"Alright, Angel," Kaelen said, a smile forming as he kissed Dhairya's forehead softly. "You go and sleep some more then, I'll do just a little more paperwork and then I'll join you in bed, okay?"

Dhairya mumbled something incoherent and Kaelen merely took it as an agreement.

----------------------------------------------

It was already 2 a.m. and Kaelen still hadn't gone to bed. He didn't even realize that it was that late until small whimpers came from the bed's direction. His first thought ran straight to Dhairya in pain and he stood up quickly, knocking over a few things in the process.

Dhairya's eyes were squeezed shut and he was holding his stomach with his body curled up into the fetal position. Kaelen had slept in the same bed as Dhairya long enough to know that he was trying to protect himself from the father that was no longer there. It pained Kaelen to see how much George still affected Dhairya even if he was miles and miles away at the moment.

Kaelen sighed and uncurled Dhairya's body first, unfolding his arms after and taking off his shoes to climb in the bed besides Dhairya. He pulled Dhairya close to him and began to mumble sweet nothings and promises that he wasn't sure were true, but he knew that it was what Dhairya needed to hear at the moment.

"Hey, you're okay, your dad can't hurt you anymore, you're safe here with me, okay?" Kaelen's words seemed to be soothing Dhairya and his eyes slowly relaxed to the point where they were no longer squeezed so tight that Kaelen thought they would fall off.

Kaelen knew that the next morning, Dhairya would be quieter, less active, and overall, not himself. But he also knew that Dhairya wouldn't remember why he was acting like this, only that he didn't feel well. And with those thoughts in mind, and the thought of how there happened to be a festival on the beach that was supposed to stay all week, Kaelen went to sleep.

Super short update!

So I've been seeing authors that have Instagrams or Snapchats or something to interact with their readers, and I was wondering if you would want that? It can even be a Google Classroom, if you really want.

QOTD: This way of writing or the ones with P.O.V.'s?

You've reached the end of published parts.
