Recap

“Em, you should get some sleep. You won’t be able to leave until tomorrow.” I heard Zayn say then quick after a sigh.

He didn’t have to tell my twice. My eyes were already closing, but the last thing I heard was something I never wanted to hear.

“Nathan, I saw Emily’s father.”

Emily’s POV

My eyes quickly opened ripping me away from that horrible nightmare. My heart was racing and there were beads of sweat rolling down my forehead. I looked around the dark room, and there was no one. I started to cry because I wanted someone here to tell me that everything was going to be alright. I hiccupped while grabbing the itchy sheets.

“Want Liam.” I mumbled still hiccupping.

I had looked at the clock on the bed side table. It read 5 am, and my breathing was heavy.

“Want Liam.” I kept on mumbling.

My head was hurting and my heart was aching both physically and mentally. I had looked out the little hospital window which leads you to the hallway. I saw nurses and doctors passing by, and all I wanted to see was Liam. I kept on trying to sleep it off, but my dad’s image would always come up, so I stayed away for the rest of the time.

My back was facing the door, so when I heard the door open I jumped.

“Whoa, no need to jump.”

“Liam.” I said looking up at him.

“Hey baby girl.” He said kissing me on the forehead.

“You look tired, did you get any sleep?” He asked sitting in the vacant chair next to the bed.

                I shook my head.

“You should get some sleep then.” He said grabbing my hand.

I shook my head. He was about to say something, but the door was ripped open. He turned around and stood up, letting go of my head in the process.

“Simon what are you doing here?” He asked.

“Who are they?” I whispered eyeing the people behind Uncle Simon.

He had whispered something into Liam’s ear and Liam shook his head.

“You aren’t going to let them take her. Are you?”  He said quietly, but not quiet enough.

“Liam, don’t let them take me.” I said looking up.

He looked at me sadly, and walked towards me.

“I will find a way.” He said wiping the tears that I didn’t know came.

“Promise?” I said looking at him.

“I-I c-can’t promise you that.” He said stumbling on his words.

“But you said you’re gonna find a way.” I whispered.

He didn’t say anything after that.

“I don’t know about that anymore.” He whispered so I could only hear it.

I bit my lip, trying to stop the tears from coming.

Louis’ POV

“No, I’m not giving her back.” I said.

All of us (excluding Liam and Emily) were in the living room, and in front of us was Paul.

“It’s not my choice Louis.” Paul said.

“Fine then, tell me why I have to give her back to the orphanage.” I said crossing my arms, beyond pissed.

“She’s been to the hospital more than two times, in less than one year. And, someone related to her is going to take her in.” He said.

“If she had a relative then why didn’t she go there instead of the orphanage?” Max asked.

“I don’t know, but the orphanage is taking her back after she gets out of the hospital.” Paul said.

Emily’s POV

I was laying on the hospital bed facing the wall with the tears running down my cheeks. Today was the day I was leaving this place. But, today was the day I was going back to hell. I heard the door open, but I didn’t jump like I did for the past few days. I was drawing pictures with my finger on the sheets.

“Emily?”

I didn’t turn around. I felt the blankets around me get pulled back, and the cold air hit me like a ton of bricks. I shivered a bit, but quickly ignored afterwards.

“Come on you gotta get up.”

I shook my head, and I didn’t dare to turn my body.

“I don’t wanna leave you.” I said.

He walked over to me and kneeled on the floor.

“Me either, but it’s for the best. I’m not a very good father, and whoever’s gonna adopt you will give you a better a living environment. You’ll be living a normal life, instead of living with three bands that go on tours.” Louis said.

I had said my good byes to everyone and left the house without another word. But, when I got to the orphanage, my jaw touched the ground.

“Mum, you’re alive?”
