I feel a soft tap on my shoulder and I jump forward with my headphones ripping out of my ear

"Miss we've now arrived at JFK international airport " I turn around and nod my head whilst rubbing my eyes to get rid of the blur .

The flight attendant turns around collecting her things. I turn around to look at Erin still sleeping, soft and sound, well not really sound because she really does know how to snore. I decide to go on wake her before I pack my things up.

"Erin wake the hell up" she stirs slightly but still not waking up completely I take it upon myself to hit her shoulder harder than intended

which causes her to jump and pull her headphones out, now looking at me frantically "Are we there?" she asks getting up slowly

"yeah, hurry the flight attendants look like they want to leave" I reply back to her packing up my things which to be fair isn't very much.

after we finished collecting our stuff, we thank the captain and flight crew as well as the flight attendants

I honestly didn't think I was going to sleep for a whole eight hours, well to be fair I did wake up to eat as for Erin she defiantly slept the whole plane ride .

The bright sun is now shining and closing my vision half making me blind and now I'm repeatedly rubbing my eyes to start trying to see where I'm going

I take careful steps down the plane due to the fact I felt blind in this very moment "are you coming with me to my apartment" Erin asks handing her bags to the security escorting is of the plane

"you moved out ? " I ask in confusion maybe a lot more has changed then again it's bound to plus I don't blame her and right now it's probably for the best

"yeah 3 months ago" she stood there on the open runway with her hands to cover her eyes so she could me properly

"wow" I say a little stunned to be honest I don't know what I expected just because you leave doesn't mean everyone else's lives stop

"I was going to tell you but I didn't know how to contact you " she shrugs her shoulders

"I mean it's okay and It's not like I never minded being by myself" I say trying to reassure her but inside I'm shitting myself about going home to an empty place.

"don't be mad " she looks at me "I said it's okay why do you want me to be mad?" I ask she opens her mouth to speak but is cut off by one of the security guards who helped us off the plane

"ma'am unfortunately there are going to be going to be a lot of people going through the airport this morning but we'll try to get you out as fast as we can " his tone quite harsh

"that's fine" Erin replied back to him and we all continued out into the mass of people

"so we're just gonna get into separate cars then?" she says stopping a little so we're side by side

"of course" I wasn't trying to be a class A bitch but I i'm already annoyed that this whole trip back wasn't the way I had planned it to go

and plus it would be completely pointless going in the same car if we're going to different places, for all I know she could be in Brooklyn now.

Soon we managed to get through the airport and at the entrance with no hassle from people at all

The airport security opened the doors for us whilst pulling my suitcases out with them

I wasn't expecting it to be this late but it's only two O'clock and I can see the sun start to fade

I gave Erin a quick goodbye not wanting to have more unnecessary conversations and said a quick 'thank you' to all the airport security before getting into my car.
