St. Xavier Hospital

08:45 am

Arjun woke up all of a sudden in his hospital room. He had a stitch around his head and some plasters. He looked around the room. The room was empty. After a few minutes, Nikhil entered the room.

‘Did you capture the terrorists?’

‘No. They have planted many bombs around the building. We didn’t notice it. They have used the chance to escape.’

Arjun sighed in disappointment. Then he turned towards Nikhil and asked

‘How is Ragini? Where is she?’

Nikhil cleared his throat. He said to him.

‘She is no more. She didn’t escape from the place. We also searched the place. Her body also couldn’t be found. I don’t know what to say. I’m sorry.’

Arjun tried to speak, but his voice trembled. He feels like suffocating. Only tears went down from his eyes.

Nikhil patted on his shoulder and went out. The following week, Arjun spent his days, crying and thinking about his days with Ragini.

Arjun is discharged from the hospital. He get into Nikhil’s jeep. They both are headed to Arjun’s house. Within a travel of a 25 minutes, they have reached to his house.

Arjun’s Residence

Arjun get down from the jeep.

‘Arjun, you go rest yourself. I will buy something to eat and come.’

Arjun nodded. He went up the stairs and entered his room. He slowly walked inside and sat on the sofa.

After a few minutes, Nikhil entered the room with a cover. He had brought a bread and a water bottle. He opened another cover in his pocket.

‘Here, take the tablet. Get a good sleep. Relax your mind.’

He took the medicine. He then get up from the sofa. Nikhil lend a hand to him, so that he can walk in ease. He slowly stepped on the bed. Then Nikhil went.

The next few days went very dried. He didn’t go out. He just sat in his room, watching the outer environment. He sometimes looked at the photo of Ragini in his mobile phone.

Occasionally, Nikhil visited him. Sat there for 1 or 2 hours and leave. He try to persuade him to move on. The one thing he always remembered one thing: avoid drugs. So Arjun never involved himself in drugs or other things.

Phoenix Complex

04:15 pm

Arjun and Nikhil was there on Arjun’s apartment. After many days, a smile just came over in Arjun’s face.

‘Hey Arjun, I have taken an important decision in your life.’

‘What is that?’

‘See, after Ragini has gone, you’re not concentrating on other things. So I have decided that you should marry my sister.’

Arjun shouted in exclamation. He said,’ Are you mad? How can you say like this? Did Sara accept it? Okay now, just forget it.’

‘She had accepted. Okay. Now I’m asking you a question. Am I your best friend or not? If then, can’t I worry about your life?’

Arjun looked his face for sometimes. He stood up and walked left to right for a few minutes. Then he made himself comfortable on the sofa.

‘Okay then, I will marry your sister. It’s only for you.’

Nikhil, in excitement, hugged him. Their marriage happened on 27/03/2014. Nikhil was so happy for his friend and also for his sister.
