I was at Buck's place, unable to sleep from the coldness of the night when I decided to go for a walk. I laced up my converse and quietly tiptoed downstairs and out the front door, making sure not to wake Buck, since he lived upstairs. There was no point in just laying in bed if you knew you couldn't go to sleep.

I paced outside, the sky shimmering with stars. I pulled my leather jacket closer to my body, I got a sudden chill, even though it was Summer, I was cold. This happened frequently, since I have a weaker circulation.

Dally was still in the hospital, probably complaining about not allowed out to the nurses. I clenched my jaw, hoping to release the stress gathered up inside of me. I should have been the one who got shot, he didn't do anything, or did he? I didn't even find out what those two guys were wanting to kill him for. Those two were wanted criminals anyhow, they could have just wanted to take their anger out on some kid. Dallas could have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

"Hey, Dorothy." I heard a whisper in my ear that made me whirl around.

"Dally! You're supposed to be in the hospital!" I exclaimed.

"It got boring."

"So? You're supposed to be in bed, resting." I shook my head. "How'd you get out?"

"What do you think? I walked." He said, as if obvious. "Sorry, I meant to say 'with my legs'." He mocked.

I turned back around and kept walking. "I'm not in the mood."

"Well I am, Dorothy."

"Don't call me that."

"Call you what?" He said sarcastically.

"Dorothy. Don't call me that."

"Sorry, Dorothy, it's just I can't. Not until you cut the crap."

I spun around taken by surprise, and stood stunned, "What?" I paced towards him, "It's no crap."

"Sure it is." He says as he lit a cigarette.

"Dally, I'm telling the-"

"Truth," he interrupted me, "Yeah, sure."

"What can I do to prove it to you?"

"Tell me something that'll happen tomorrow." He mocked, taking another huff. I lost it.

"I didn't study the 1960s in social class!" I swore at him. "I saved your stupid life, twice, and all you keep doing is acting like an idiot! You're wasting your life away Dally! You can't get this day back, and you can't get your life back if you died tomorrow. I don't understand why you're wasting your life like this! You could do so much more! You're so freaking smart, you could apply to college if you wanted to, you could do so m-"

He reached and grabbed me, and kissed me. It happened so quickly, and it wasn't bad. Just a sweet, innocent kiss.
