I put on a fake smile,
I try to laugh off my pain,
I act like I'm fine,
When you don't know I feel insane.
I can't speak a word,
Of the truth that I feel broken,
I can't say my words,
So I leave them unspoken.
I wipe away my tears,
As if they were never there,
But that's only when your around,
Because life is too much to bare.
You don't know that I cry,
About how much pain I feel,
You don't know that the happiness you saw,
Was never real.
You can't tell me that you know me,
When you really don't,
You act like you care,
When you really won't.
So I put on my mask,
Of regret and doubt,
Because hiding my pain,
Is easier than letting it out.
