{II:7} The Tale of A Girl

This is the tale of a girl who once had hearts in her eyes
Who once had love in her heart
Until it turned to stone.

The tears of a girl who once had hearts in her eyes
Who once had life in her soul
But now she is a lifeless shell

The tears, as each fell from her eyes
Washed the hearts down
Until she'd shed her life away

And with every step she took in life
The pain was always there
Until she came to hate
What loving you was like

Then gradually, she forgot.
Her tears froze like ice
Her heart a pillar of stone
Her eyes a hollow pit

So she tried to remember
Remember what love once was
And what it was like to have a heart to love.

On and on the seasons went
Until one day she found hope
And felt her heart beat again
Her cold soul warmed by love

And so the tears of a girl with hearts in her hands
Fell slowly as she smiled
Because finally she remembered
What loving you was like

The Tale of A Girl who once had hearts in her eyes
Is retold today
As my tale.

Tophie's Note.

I was honestly considering naming this poem: Loving You but well, it chose its path.
What do you deduce from the poem. What is it talking about? Who can relate?? I'd love to hear from you in the comments! Please be good to leave a vote too!!

Happy Birthday Calista!!! a.k.a. Winsome (Taba) Barry!!
