(Another chapter! I hope you like it!)
Bella’s P.O.V
Edward was a gentleman the whole time we were out. His manners were amazing and he was so sweet. He was taking me for a walk through the woods and I was just revelling in the silence, taking in the beauty of the trees. My crutches were starting to annoy my underarms.
Eventually we came to a beautiful meadow that was bursting with sunlight. As soon as we stepped through, Edward started sparkling and I couldn’t stop looking at him. He was gorgeous but in a different way to Alice. He chuckled.
“Had your full?” he asked smirking. I blushed realising I had been staring too long. He had brought a basket with him and he settled us down in the middle of the meadow. I breathed in the sweet smells of the flowers and laid on my back, staring at the blue sky and the clouds floating above.
“It’s so beautiful.” I whispered.
“Yes, just like you.” he said daringly brushing a strand of hair from my face. My breathing quickened.
“Edward.” I said warningly. He was getting dangerously close. He sucked in a lungful of air and leaned back, opening the basket. I sighed in relief; I don’t think I would be able to control myself.
“As you know I don’t eat human food so I packed it for you.” I smiled sweetly at him.
“Thank you.” He nodded and handed me a chicken sandwich. I took it gratefully, realising I was starving. I finished my food in silence and Edward took my hand hauling me to my feet.
“I want to show you something.” We walked hand in hand (him supporting my bad leg) towards a massive, beautiful tree standing in the middle of the meadow. I looked at him quizzically as we stood underneath the branches. Suddenly he pushed me gently against the trunk and held my hands still. I couldn’t move but I realised I didn’t really want to. He came closer and looking into his honey eyes made me swoon. He smelt amazing and I wanted more of him.
‘Stop this! Think of Alice!’ A part of my brain yelled. I felt a pang of guilt stab my stomach but I couldn’t help myself as he got closer. Then our lips were touching and we were making out heavily against the tree. Alice popped into my head and I couldn’t help but wish I was kissing her instead of Edward. Using all my strength I pushed Edward away from me.
Obviously it wasn’t enough to push a vampire, but he felt my struggles and yanked away from me. I was shaking my head, trying to stop the drunken feeling in my brain.
“I-I can’t do this.” I whispered.
“Why?” he growled.
“Alice.” I couldn’t say anything else. He made an awful noise in his chest and he looked furious.
“It’s always about Alice!” I flinched away from his anger. I was so confused, I was attracted to Edward but I actually loved Alice. Well, I was pretty sure it was love.
“I-I love her.” I stammered cautiously. It felt so good to say it out loud. For some reason it seemed more real saying it. He just stared at me. I could see confusion on his face.
“How can you love Alice? She’s a girl!” Anger suddenly blazed inside.
“So? I still love her!” I yelled defiantly. He moved forwards and attempted to kiss me again but I yanked away from him.
“Take me back. Now.” I said calmly which surprised me. I felt anything but calm. He suddenly looked ashamed.
“I’m sorry.” I briskly nodded and at speeds which surprised me, I was pulled onto his back and before I knew it we were back outside the Cullen’s house. I got off of his back shaking the dizziness away. I had to get used to vampire speed.
I walked into the house, determined to talk to Alice. Edward had picked up my crutches so I grabbed them from him and walked upstairs. I wandered around the top part of the house for a while before finding a door that had ‘Alice Cullen’ on it. I knocked and heard Alice’s beautiful voice say, “Come in!” I walked in to find her pacing her room. She was moving with such grace, I had to stop and stare for a moment.
“Bella?” Alice said with concern. I shook my head slightly.
“Yeah, sorry,” I walked towards her couch and sat down.
“How was your… date?” she said with difficulty. I saw her wince at the word date. I bit my lip and grimaced, unsure if I should tell her about the kiss. She would be so disappointed, especially seeing as the last thing she told me was to NOT kiss him! She sighed and sat down beside me.
“You kissed him.” she said bluntly. I stared at her in shock. How did she know?!
“How-?”
“Visions, remember? Vampire. Powers. Ring a bell?” she said sarcastically. My eyes widened. I had completely forgotten that she could see into the future.
“I-I,” I stuttered.
“So you did?!” she exclaimed. I hung my head in shame. “I can’t believe you would do that to me! I thought you might change your mind!”
“I’m so sorry Alice. It was the heat of the moment! And…”
“No! I don’t want to hear it! Get. Out. Now.” I was shocked to hear such venom in her words. She had never been angry at me. Ever.
“Alice please-”
“Out!” I got up slowly watching her eyes glint with fury. I walked out of her room as tears rolled down my face.
I regret kissing Edward.
