I woke up with an aching arm, aching leg, and a sore head. I was in a soft bed, which I was thankful for but I had no idea how I'd gotten there or where I was for that matter. I slowly opened my eyes and realised I was in a white, open spaced room. There were giant windows so I could see outside.

A massive forest encompassed the building. All I could see were trees. I slowly took in my surroundings and saw a black couch and lots of music and books but that was it. I was in a double bed and realised that I had casts around my left leg and right arm and my left arm was bandaged up.

As I sat up, suddenly everything came back to me and I started to quietly sob. The door opened, making me jump. I couldn't breathe. Literally. Standing there was Alice Cullen.

What?!

I swallowed nervously, trying to put feeling back into, well, everything. I laid back down on the pillows, trying to remember how to breathe properly. She smiled sadly which took my breath away, making me start counting to ten again in my head.

"How are you feeling?" she asked quietly, her voice ringing like bells in my head.

"F-fine," I stammered. It seemed that I couldn't talk when the Cullen's were around. She sat down next to me, careful not to touch my injured body. "How did I get here? What happened?" I asked impatiently. She sighed and patted my hand making me freeze, and almost recoil. Her skin was ice cold, just like Raphael's was, but when she touched me I felt something warm burst inside of me. I swallowed and pretended nothing happened.

"Where do I start? Well, first of all we found you strung up and in a pretty bad way-"

I shook my head impatiently.

"How did you find me? I was in a warehouse in the middle of nowhere!" I exclaimed, interrupting. She shushed me, making me frown. I felt like a stubborn kid.

"I knew where you were, because I saw it."

I looked at her in disbelief; did she seriously think I understood this?

"How could you have seen me? You were back here in Forks. I was four hours away from you guys. How could you have seen me?"

She seemed so reluctant to tell me but she was going to whether she liked it or not.

"I can see the future Bella. I saw you getting attacked, and I came to you as soon as I could," she sighed while I sat there frozen. "I might as well tell you the rest. I'm also a vampire. Actually, my whole family are."

I stared at her. She must have been crazy. What did she take me for? A moron?

"Tha-that can't be true. Vampires don't exist. I mean, it's not possible!" I exclaimed. She sighed again as she watched my reaction.

"Bella, I'm not lying," she said staring at me so intently I felt intimidated under her gaze; yet, something in her eyes told me she was telling the truth. I gasped and I suddenly felt so overwhelmed I started crying. She stared at me, shocked. She surprisingly put her hands on my back, rubbing in soothing circles, muttering encouraging words.

Realisation hit me; I was sitting in a room with a vampire! Who probably wanted to eat me! I shielded away from her, wondering if this was hard for her. I saw hurt in her eyes.

"Yo-you probably need to-to eat right?" I asked tentatively. I saw shame in her eyes. I noticed something then, her eyes, which were usually a light golden colour, was now a deep black.

"Your eyes. They're black, usually they're golden," I stated. She nodded.

"My family are vegetarians. We don't hunt humans, only animals. Animal blood makes our eyes gold. When I'm hungry they go black," she explained. I felt slightly better knowing they didn't hunt humans but no matter how much I thought about it, I didn't seem frightened. At all. I felt safe near Alice, which was ridiculous I knew. But then again, I'd never really been normal.

"However, your blood does smells really good," she continued sucking in a breath.

"I'm sorry," I said feeling the need to apologise to the obvious pain I was putting her through. She looked at me, surprised and then she started laughing. The sound was making me warm.

"You're apologising? For what?"

"For making things difficult."

She laughed again.

"I'm the one who should be apologising! For putting you in such danger. I've never felt so terrible in my life," she said going solemn again. I felt the need to console her so I reached my hand out to her face. She suddenly stiffened and before I knew it, she was by the door, looking extremely uncomfortable.

"I'm sorry," I apologised, once again, feeling hurt.

"It's okay. I'm just not used to it yet. I think I should hunt. I'll be back in a few hours. Rest, you need it," she said sighing and eventually leaving out the door. I slammed my head back into the pillows, sighing deeply.

Stupid, stupid, stupid!

Eventually, the pain of my injuries and thinking about Alice left me exhausted and I was soon fast asleep.
