Danger

(A/N: Another upload in a day! I definetly have gotten over my writers block! I hope you like this chapter even though it's short. It's an important chapter because it is the beginning of something awesomeee!)

I drove home in a daze; now I felt even more awful! Edward was in love with me, I knew that now. Looking into his eyes I could just tell. I wish I had never met the Cullen’s, but then again, I am so happy I did.

I arrived home and Charlie hugged me, much to my surprise.

“How was your day sweetie?”

“It was good.”

“I’m going out tonight, over to the reserve. I don’t want you to leave this house. You’re still grounded remember?” I groaned remembering my punishment.

“Okay dad.” I went up to my room and did the homework that was set. It was extremely easy, even though I hardly remember anything from my lessons.

After a while, Charlie told me he was leaving and then I was home alone. I went downstairs and made a makeshift dinner. I went back to my room and sat behind my laptop, checking my emails for the first time since coming here.

I knew I probably should have checked them straight away as I had 20 emails from my mum! She was a worrier. As I went through them, they got more and more panicked. I sighed and rolled my eyes.

I wrote her a quick email, telling her not to worry and that I was enjoying my time with Charlie. I even told her a little about the Cullen’s. I shut my laptop down and settled down in my bed, ready to read a good book. It was nearly ten. I wander how long Charlie is planning on going out?

As I got sucked into the book, a tapping at the window startled me. I opened the window and Edward was standing there looking panicked. Dread settled in me and I saw his eyes. He was frightened which was horrible on a vampire. I knew something was terribly wrong. He jumped into my room and spun around to face me.

“You have to come with me. Pack your bags. Now!” I shook my head bewildered and when I didn’t make any move to pack, he started doing it for me, at vampire speed. He was throwing clothes in a suitcase he found downstairs. I just watched in awe as he went from room to room throwing things he thought I would need. Finally he stopped and zipped the suitcase up.

“What’s going on Edward!?” I exclaimed, scared now.

“I’ll explain later. Just get on my back.” He was holding my suitcase in his hands like it weighed nothing. I hopped on his back and wrapped my arms securely around his neck. Then we were off, speeding through the night. I buried my face in his neck and tried to calm my breathing down. It was almost impossible at the speeds we were travelling.

After what felt like seconds he slowed down outside the Cullen house. He dragged me inside where everyone was either sitting on the couch or pacing up and down at human speed.

Alice was sitting completely still on the couch, seemingly looking into nothing with Jasper next to her stroking her arm. A pang of jealousy flashed through me but I banished it away at Carlisles’ face.

“What’s happening!?” I practically screamed at them. Every single pair of eyes in that room snapped up at me. They all had fear in them which almost made me break down. I had never felt such adrenaline flow through my veins before.

“The Volturi are coming.” Alice whispered.
