Detective Li spoke calmly to the girl, trying to calm her down.

"Please, ma'am, relax, our officers are doing all they can to find your friend. Just sit and try to calm down."

The girl ran her hand through her short pink hair nervously. "What about the woman that you found? What did she say?"

Detective Life hesitated. She knew that her response would just agitate the girl further. She sighed. "She insists that she is Piper Finn."

"How dare she? And what kind of way to cover up a crime is that? We know it's not her!" She put her head in her hands.

"She wants to speak with you."

"What!"

"There'll be an officer in there with you."

Merma began to cry. All of her things were destroyed, her best friend was missing, and now this girl was pretending to be Piper! She didn't know if she should talk to her or not. She wanted to find out more, but she didn't even want to look at the girl.

"We'll give you a minute to think about it," officer Li said.

"No, it's okay," Merma said, then sighed. "I'll talk to her."
