Haymitch's Quarter Quell

The Remake Center and the Tribute Parade

 When I woke up the next day I was told to go get breakfast immediately. I had to eat and get dressed fast. Today was the day we were going to the Capitol for the first time.

As we were pulling in to the station I looked to see all the Capitol people staring and cheering at the train. They were clapping and telling other people stuff, probably about us.

When we got off the train we went straight to a building. Once we went in we were immediately sent to the remake center. They washed me, got the dirt out of my nails, and made my hair look fancy.

I always watched the tribute parade wondering how they got the people from 12 looked so clean. After all that I thought I was done, but I was wrong I still had to get dressed.

"Hello I'm Tessa Rivdell and I'll be Brandon's and your stylist till the hunger games" Tessa said with a weird look on her face once she saw us. She probably didn't like the look of us. She gave some people clothes and whispered something to them. Then the people took us to another room and gave us are clothes. After we got dressed  they gave us a hard hat and a pick axe.

I took a look in the mirror. I looked exactly like a coal miner. My face and my body looked like it had coal dust all over it and the costume smelled really bad.

"Wonderful, just wonderful" said Tessa really happy.When I saw the others they looked like they were going to puke once they saw how they looked. District 12 costumes is always has the worst costumes.

They took us to a big room were all the other districts and their chariots are. Before we can do anything the people that work there took us to the back with all the district 12 chariots. As we were walking I looked around to see some people that scared me. Like for example the district 7 girl Amber. She had blond hair and green eyes and pale skin and she gave me the evil eye when we walked past her. Then we went on are chariot ready to take off.

Every district has 2 chariots because of the Quell. 2 people per chariot. I got pared up with Maysilee. Maysilee had her hair in a bun with a hard hat over it. Her fake coal dust is the same as mine, but has no pick axe. Katey looked like Maysilee and Brandon looked like me.

 I got on the chariot with Maysilee and Panem's anthem played. First the fabulous district 1 in their sparkling outfits. Then district 2, and 3, and 4 and blah blah blah.

Then it got to are turn. Maysilee and I went first. The Chariot ride's moved forward and out the door.  I stood straight and tall to look as brave and strong as I can. When we went out the door the roaring crowed turned into a few pity claps. I looked at Maysilee from the corner of my eye and saw her face starting to blush with embarrassment.

The other district started laughing like crazy once we came back in. I felt so embarrassed and by the looks of it the rest of 12 did to. That's when Amber came over to us.

"Well well well, district 12, you got a terrible outfit and smells horrible to." She said with a smirk and started to walk away.

I muttered to myself "Like you can do any better." She turned her head slightly and gave me the evil eye. She muttered something to herself and left. Told you I'm unlikable.

"Ha you guys were terrible out there. Did you hear the crowd go silence Silver" said Royce from district 1. Silver is also from his district. Royce is large and strong he has dark brown hair while Silver is skinny and has red hair, but still strong.

"I did you must be so embarrassed. Come on lets go back to the rest of the group" Silver said to Royce and they walked to the rest of district 1 and 2.

The Careers are from 1 Royce and Silver, from 2 Slate and Jade and 4 who I don't know. Royce had blond hair, brown eyes and kind of buff. Silver had brown hair, but with silver eyes and a skinny body.

Slate, the boy from 2, had brown eyes, black hair and always looked like he's ready to kill. That leaves Jade, she has blond hair, green eyes and what I'v heard of very smart. The other careers I don't really care about.They all smirked at us and walked off.

"Don't get them mad" said a young boy. He puts his hand in front of me. "My names Colt from district 10". I shake his hand.

Then awkwardly I say "Hi uh... I'm Haymitch um Haymitch Abernathy" then I do a weak laugh.

"I know just wanted to warn you, bye" that was weird why would he warn me. We finally went to are rooms after all that.

I snuck out of bed late at night to explore and I found the roof. I love it I stay there till morning and watch the sun set. Then I go back to bed and sleep till they wake me for breakfast and after breakfast I go back to sleep. I go there every single night and do the same thing which gets my mind off of the hunger games
