The fateful day of September 19th was approaching, and searching for Hermione's gift was stressful, to say the least. Most people would've just said to buy her a book, but the trouble with that was that she practically owned every book. So, that was how you ended up strolling around Hogsmeade desperately trying to find a gift perfect for your girlfriend.
There were many shops which could provide a wonderful gift make no doubt about that, but Hermione was a "special" girl who didn't find interest in things that most girls would.
Looking around the town, your eyes landed on the sign which read Scrivenshaft's Quill Shop. Hermione's love for knowledge would make this shop the perfect place to find something for her. As you entered the store, the smell of parchment filled your nose with delight. The smell instantly reminded you of Hermione. Pacing through the store, you saw a range of items from parchment to quills. She's been running low on ink, you thought, picking up a small container of the black substance. Setting the ink down, you turned your attention toward the quills. One of them, in particular, caught your attention with the way it shined in the light. You picked it up and examined it closely. The feather was a perfectly silk and was complimented by the golden color. She would definitely like this, you thought.
Leaving the store with the quill and a container of ink, you wandering around the town a little bit more before finally heading back to Hogwarts.
The day of September 19th had come quicker than you thought. In the morning, you sat with Hermione, Ron, and Harry and enjoyed a nice breakfast with them. Throughout the day, you and Hermione never left each other's side until the two of you ended up in her dormancy alone. You were seated on her bed holding yourself up with the headboard. Hermione was curled up in your side with her eyes shut, but she wasn't quite asleep. You remembered that you hadn't given her the gift yet, and it was still inside your backpack.
"'Mione," you said, causing her to open her eyes slightly. "I've got something for you. You want to see it now or go back to sleep?"
You received your answer when Hermione jumped up and looked at you expectedly. You hopped off her bed and searched through your back. When you found her neatly wrapped present, her eyes stared at it with complete admiration.
"Happy Birthday Hermione." You placed the gift into her lap and as down beside her on the bed.
"Thank you Y/N," she said with a peck on your lips.
She unwrapped the box slowly while you watched her movements. She let out a soft gasp as she picked up the golden quill.
"Y/N," she started. "I-I can't take this. This must've cost you a dreadful amount. This is too much. You didn't have to-"
"I wanted to 'Mione." You said, cutting her off from her rant. "There's also ink in there for you since you've been running low."
She looked at you with a warm smile on her face and closed the gap between the two of you. What started out as a simple kiss became heated within minutes. She straddled your lap while you began to kiss her jaw and neck.
"This is just another part of your gift," you mumbled between kisses.
Hermione might've enjoyed the quill and ink, but the final part of her gift was by far her favorite part.
