She was top of the class, the most beautiful girl you've ever seen, and she would never go for someone like you. Hell, who could blame her. After all, you were in Slytherin, her rival house. Although you knew that you had no chance with her, you still tried countless amounts of times for even a smile. But the truth is, when you're friends with Malfoy, all she ever does is give you an evil glare. Although, today was a different story.
You were roaming the halls with Draco, looking for Pansy, when you noticed a familiar looking trio striving toward you. Draco didn't miss an opportunity to pounce.
"Well," he started, with his disgusting smirk. "If it isn't the famous Potter and his two sidekicks. I hope they'll save the school just like they always do. Although, it would be nice to see someone eaten by a dragon."
"Piss off Malfoy!" Ron said, not wanting to take any of Draco's crap.
"Forget it, Ron," Harry said. "He's not worth it. Come on, let's just go."
You were glad the trio wasn't going to continue because you really didn't want to deal with Draco's nagging. Just as the trio was walking away from the scene, Draco couldn't let them leave without the final word.
"It's always like you, Potter, to run away from a fight."
This time, however, someone else had something to say to Draco.
"Says the one whose family ran away to the dark side and only returned when it was convenient for them." Hermione snarled.
Everyone went silent and for once Draco was speechless. Although, that didn't last very long.
"Did it look like I was talking to you, Mudblood?" Draco said, emphasizing the word Mudblood.
You weren't exactly sure what came over you, but when Draco said those words, all hell broke loose.
"Shut up Malfoy!" you roared, feeling your blood boiling.
"Oh, I didn't realize you fancied the rejects Y/N," he said, clenching his jaw and feeling betrayed. "What a disgrace you are to the pureblood name. You filthy blood traitor."
With that, he disappeared into the crowd, that had formed around the scene before them, and most of them were mumbling about the Slytherin who just stood up for three Gryffindors. Truth be told, you surprised yourself.
"I uh what?" Ron said, not really sure what just happened.
"Well then," Hart started, trying to find the right words. "Thanks, for you know, standing up for us. None of us were really expecting that."
"So why exactly did you do it?" Hermione question, trying to understand your reasons for what you did. "I mean, it's not every day some pureblood, Slytherin mind you, takes our side. Why did you do it?"
"Well," you said, scratching the back of your neck nervously. "Malfoy pisses everybody off. I didn't want to deal with his crap and I'm pretty sure you all didn't want to either."
"Well thank you," Hermione said, believing your excuse. "We were headed to the library. Would you um like to join us?"
You couldn't help but smile at her words. "I'd love to."
