Because of You

My heart keeps breaking,

But I don’t mind the aching.

Every single lie, the tears they cause,

I wish it would all just stop and pause.

Do you remember what we had?

Those nights we’d talk until there was nothing left to add.

My hatred only grows,

Because my heart has suffered one too many blows.

You cause me pain,

That’s permanent like a year old stain.

Why must you point out my every flaw?

You’re the reason my skin has gone raw.

Are you happy with what you’ve done?

Do you feel that you’ve finally won?

I try to act like it doesn’t hurt,

But on the inside I feel like nothing but dirt.

My heart keeps those tears,

My emotions continue to wear,

Yet you really have no clue,

That this is all because of you.
