The Girl You Left Behind
You were something rare,
Truly one in a million.
And I feel for you right there,
Because this feeling was one in a billion.
But I guess I was wrong,
Because I wasn’t meant for you,
Our love was never strong,
Your feelings never true.
I wasn’t who you wanted,
So you left me on the spot.
There my heart was haunted,
Because you loved me not.
You left me all alone,
Sitting on your throne,
Because you knew you’d won.
You took my heart,
And said my name.
Knowing from the start,
I was just some game.
You used to get to her,
And now it’s just a blurr.
You left me behind,
You left me wandering blind.
So my eyes no longer shimmer,
As I pass you in the hall.
But rather they go dimmer,
As I try not to feel so small.
