You
I’ve tried to write this a hundred times,
But I simply could not.
When I’ve written before,
It’s been out of anger,
And it’s been out of sadness.
But it’s different with you.
When we speak,
My world that was once dark,
Suddenly feels light.
When you look at me,
I see a friend,
That couldn’t hurt me if he tried.
I was reading old messages,
And looking at old pictures,
That made me sad,
But when I tried to write this out of sadness,
I couldn’t.
Not because I wasn’t sad,
But because the person in those pictures,
The person I was talking to,
You.
Didn’t make me sad.
And when I tried to write this out of anger,
I couldn’t.
Because when you speak,
I laugh,
I smile.
I couldn’t write this out of anger,
Or out of sadness,
Because writing about you,
Doesn’t make me feel like that.
Writing about you,
I’m smiling,
And laughing,
So after trying a hundred times,
I finally did it.
