Chapter 7 - Small Talk

It was the day of the camping trip. Everybody was wearing casual clothes and they were happy not to wear their school uniforms. All of them were in school before 5:30. Some of the seniors volunteered to be the facilitator of the third year students. By this time, the seniors called them to go to their respective bus numbers. "Looks like we have to split." Namjoon said. "Yeah but oh well, see you guys at the campsite." Seokjin says and they bid their final goodbyes to each other. "Jimin, good luck to you." Hoseok said to him then he goes with Taehyung and Yoongi since they were in the same bus. Jimin sighs since he was alone now.

"Bye bye Jungkook." Mingyu says carrying his camping bag. "Fine. Let's meet at the campsite." Jungkook says, lifting his bag from the ground. "Okay." Mingyu then leaves and goes to Wonwoo and his other friends. Jungkook watches him leave then he goes to bus 3.

"Time to get in!" One of the seniors, named Lee Shinjeong, called out to the people who will be boarding bus number 3. "Now, before you go in, pick your partner. You can't have 3 people just 2 okay?" She said. They all responded, "Yes." They all hop in the bus and the last two at the end of the line were Jimin and Jungkook. Jimin looked around hoping that there is someone with no partner but then it seemed that everyone was present; just like what Yoongi predicted. Jimin sits at the back then he places his bag down next to him. Jungkook goes to his opposite side, which was Jimin's right, and does the same. Shinjeong then came just to check if they were complete until she noticed this. "Now now. What's your name?" She asks Jimin. "Jimin" He replies. "Okay Jimin, can you please put your bag up there so that he could sit down?" She says pointing at Jungkook. Even if Jimin didn't want to, he decided to follow the senior to show her respect. He stood up and placed his bag on top then sat back down. Shinjeong taps on Jungkook shoulder and he looks at her. "Please sit over here." She said. He decided to follow her even if he had to sit next to Jimin. He placed his bag on top too and sat down. The both of them avoided each other's gazes.

"Hello everybody! I am Chulmin from Class E of 4th year and that's Shinjeong of Class A, the one who is checking the attendance and today, we will be your facilitators for this camping trip." Shinjeong walked back to the front and grabbed the mic from him. "Yes and I'm excited! How about you Chulmin? Aren't you excited for the camping trip?" She asks. "Well of course Shinjeong! How about you guys and girls, aren't you excited?" They all replied yes to the seniors. "Now while we are in this bus, you can go and chat with your seatmate and do whatever you want other than the things that you aren't supposed to do." She said. "Okay now, we wanted this to be very short so that you can enjoy the rest of the time in the bus and we did so sit back, and have fun talking to your friends. But don't be too noisy." Most of them replied yes while some of them nodded.

"Hey shortie what's up?" Jungkook says. "Can you please stop calling me shortie?" Jimin asks annoyed. "Aww, look who is annoyed now." Jimin ignores Jungkook and he continues to look at his past photos. Jungkook immediately grabs the phone and he looks at the picture. "Hey give it back!" Jimin said trying to reach for his phone. Jungkook laughs then he looks at the photo which made his expression change. It was a photo of Jimin and his friends and he was included in the picture. They were in Starbucks and all of them were smiling, especially him. Jimin grabs his phone back then he deletes the photo. "Hey! Why'd you delete that?" Jungkook asks. "Why? Can't I delete it?" Jimin asks him. Jungkook rolls his eyes. A short pause of silence was in between them. "What was that photo?" Jungkook asks breaking the silence. "Why are you asking? Are you curious about it? Wow! Jungkook being curious of something that's mine." Jungkook wanted to shout at him but he then changes his mind and decided no to. "Yes." And that answer was sincere which shocked Jimin.

"Let's go to your house Kookie!" Jimin asked. "Yes. Of course."

He remembered that time when he wanted to go to Jungkook's house for the first time and he answered him sincerely. But then he immediately shook that memory off his head and decides to tell him.
