Chapter 11 - I'm Sorry

It's the second day of camp. Taehyung and the others were inside the emergency shack with Jungkook resting on an emergency bed that the seniors brought just in case if anything happens. The atmosphere has been silent for a while. Nobody spoke yet after what happened yesterday. "Is he gonna be okay?" Hoseok asks. Taehyung shrugs. He was the one nearest to Jungkook. Just seeing Jungkook with bandages wrapped around his head makes him feel guilty. He has never witnessed anything like this in his entire life. Yes his dad may be a policeman and his mom used to be a doctor but it is his first time.

"Taehyung, I think we should go." Namjoon said. Taehyung glanced at his hyung but went back to Jungkook. "I want to stay a little longer." He replied to Namjoon. "We've been staying here for a while. What if he never wakes up?" Jimin says. Taehyung doesn't reply but starts weeping. "I-I just want Kookie to wake up." He starts emoting in front of his hyungs. "I just want him to wake up and I want to say sorry to him. I don't want to leave until I see Jungkook awake. I don't care if he is a jerk even if he is a jerk to me. I just want him to be alive. I want my best friend to be alive." He cried even harder and tears fall over Jungkook. All of his hyungs approached Taehyung and hugged him. He cried even harder because of the comfort his hyungs were giving him. He hugged them back and he tried his best to stop crying. But, he couldn't.

Jungkook's hand twitched. "I want Jungkook back." Taehyung said. Jungkook's eyes flickered and he opened his eyes. He sat up slowly then looked around. He didn't know where he was nor what he was doing in a place like this. "Where am I?" He asked. The others were shocked and surprised. They slowly turned to Jungkook and they were overwhelmed to see him alive. "Jungkook-ah!" Taehyung exclaimed, wanting to hug him but he hesitated, he remembered that he was still a jerk. He remembered that he was still the person who has hurt him and his friends. At least that's what he thinks. It is easy to say but to do it is hard. "Hyung, where am I?" He asks again. They were a bit confused since, Jungkook hasn't been calling them hyungs in such a long time. "Why are you calling him hyung?" Yoongi asked straightforward and because of that, Hoseok elbowed him on the ribs and it hurt Yoongi. "Ya! Don't say that you idiot!" He whisper-shouted to him.

"What do you mean? He is my hyung right? You're my hyungs right? Since, first year." He said a bit flustered. Namjoon whispered to the others for Jungkook not to hear. "I think it is because his brain was damaged and he is acting like this." Their eyes widened coming into realization. "Does that mean?" Taehyung then realized. They looked at Jungkook who had no idea what was happening. The first person to cry was Taehyung. He came closer to Jungkook then he hugged him. He was crying tears of joy. Jungkook still had no idea what was happening but he decided to hug him back. He patted Taehyung's back hoping that he would calm down a bit. "Hyung, why, are you crying?" He asked. "I'm sorry Kookie, for everything." He weeped. Jungkook pulled away from him. "What do you mean- Ow!" He held his head then he felt bandages wrapped around it. For him, things are getting even more confusing. "Jungkook-ah, don't you remember?" Hoseok asked. "You, ran into the woods and, you hit your head on a tree." Taehyung explained to him, calming down a bit. "I did what?" He uttered out in disbelief. He then remembered.

He remembered that he ran away from the shack into the woods because to him, Taehyung broke a promise. He remembered how he was mean to his hyungs. He remembers all the things that he did. Everything that happened. Everything he did. The memories of everything he did started coming back. He then became emotional. Remembering all those memories makes him want to fix it but it was the past and he can't change the past. There is nothing he could do now. All he could do is to see what happens next but then he has a feeling that it won't be good after everything he did to them.

"I-I'm sorry." He uttered out, crying. "Oh, Jungkook, are you alright?" Taehyung, who has finally stopped crying, asks. Jungkook looks up at him but looks back down again and he cries again, burying his face on his hands. "I'm sorry hyungs, for being a complete jerk. For being a person who would bully and hurt you. For changing and becoming somebody else. For losing the real me. For being your enemy. For everything I've said and done, for everything. I deserve to not be forgiven. I deserve this." He cried out, tears escaping his hands and dripping on the ground. It was now Taehyung's turn to comfort Kookie. He hugged Jungkook again which made him cry even more. "I don't deserve to be friends with any of you." He said, voice getting softer. "Jungkook-ah. I don't know what happened but it is not your fault. It is not your fault that you became like this. Just remember that once you get in with us, you are never getting out." The others then came and hugged Jungkook, except for Jimin who was just sitting down watching the drama. "We are sorry for hurting you Kookie." Seokjin said. "We are sorry for saying bad stuff about you." Namjoon added. "But, I was a jerk. Shouldn't you guys just hate me? Why are you saying sorry if I'm the one who made you hate me?" He asks, looking at his hyungs. "Jungkook-ah, we may have hated you but deep in our hearts, we still love you, platonically of course." Yoongi said. This made Jungkook smile a bit. "Remember, once you Jim-in, you can't Jim-out." They laugh then Jungkook realized that Jimin wasn't with them. His favorite hyung wasn't part of the hug. "Jimin hyung?" He said. They pulled apart then they saw Jimin who seemed to have cried while they were comforting Jungkook. Taehyung, Yoongi, and Hoseok approached Jimin. "Hey are you alright?" Yoongi asks. "May I ask, why did you suddenly forget everything that we did. Every memory with us. Our friendship and, my birthday?" He asks. Jungkook faced down and it seems that he has to tell him. He needs to tell him. "Jimin hyung, until now, you are my favorite hyung but to answer that, I was in an accident." They were shocked to hear this. No one spoke for a while so Jungkook sighed and continued. "Have you heard about the accident in Geon Jang Han Building?" He asks. "Oh, isn't it that the new mall that got destroyed by a bombing?" Yoongi said who has familiarized about the incident. "Didn't they say that there was only a few survivors but they never mentioned the name nor showed their identities?" Hoseok added knowing the incident too. "Yes that one.

I was a survivor."

"Dad, mom, hurry! I need to get my friend a gift!" Jungkook exclaimed running into the department store. "Hold on. Do not rush. Your friend's birthday is tomorrow right?" His mom said catching up to him. "I know but, I want to personally wrap the gift." He said. He then looked around to find a gift for Jimin. "Our Jungkook is so sweet, isn't he. He really wants to buy a gift for his friend." She says to her husband. "Yes. I'm glad to have a son like him." He says. "Here!" He came to his parents with two shirts carried on his arms. He showed the two of them. One of them was written short best friend and the other was tall best friend. "Who is the tall best friend?" His mom asks. "I'm the tall best friend because I am taller than him even though he is my hyung." His parents giggled after what he said. "Okay go pay now. Hurry up because I still have to do stuff back at home." She said. Jungkook nods then he pays the clothes.

They were walking to the exit of the building until they heard a bomb explosion. People were screaming and running. Everyone was panicking. "What was that?" Jungkook asked, panicking too. "We need to get out of here." His dad said leading his wife and his son out of the building. Debris started falling to the ground. It was an unpleasant sight for Jungkook since it was his first time that he saw someone dying by a broken debris. His body left lifeless on the ground but was surpassed by loads of people.

While running, he heard someone getting hit from behind. He turned around to see who it was and what made him heartbroken was, his dad's skull broke and he is dead on the ground. "Dad!" He shouted. He bursted out in tears along with his mom. "We must go. We need to save ourselves for dad." She said. Jungkook didn't want to leave his dad but he has too. For his and her safety.

They ran and ran. They were very near to the exit. Jungkook smiled so he ran a bit faster. His mom looked up and she noticed the cracking of the ceiling. It was breaking and might fall on Jungkook. She couldn't let her son die too. She ran faster. The ceiling broke and it fell. Jungkook looked up and saw this but he was pushed from behind. He tumbled across the floor. He looked up and he saw his mom, her leg was stuck under the huge debris that fell. "Mom!" He cried out. He ran to his mom and knelt down in front of her. She was struggling to get out. If she moves her leg, it will get even worse and by that time, she knew that she will never make it. She looked at Jungkook who was crying. "Mom, we can make it." He cried out. She brought her hand closer to his cheek and caressed it. "My little Kook ah, run. Save yourself." Jungkook shook his head as he continues crying. He held his mom's hand and he didn't want to let go. "Jungkook, run. Do this for me and dad. Please." She begged as her soul is drifting further and further away from her. She can't hold on. "Please." She begged one more time and this time, Jungkook obeyed. He stood up and ran as quickly as he can and he could still hear the floor from above falling behind him.

He ran out of the building then he heard another explosion from the top floor. He looked up and saw the building collapsing there were debris falling everywhere. He tried to run quicker but a debris hit him in the head which caused him to bleed and black out.

He, Jeon Jungkook, has lost his parents in the Geon Jang Han Building because of an explosion that was caused by an unknown person. Jungkook was one of the survivors but, he has lost almost all of his memories during the incident. He was brought to the hospital immediately and he was stuck in a coma for 2 days. He came out of the hospital on the second day with his mom's sister who was now his mom. He turned to a jerk because his 'parents' always fight and because his dad is, doing something to him sometimes. And because of this,
