The last period bell rung, and everyone sat down. Homeroom teacher walked in and did attendance.

“Class, I would like to announce, that on Thursday, we will be going on the annual end of the year, camping trip.” Everyone went into their little bickering sections. The teacher banged her book on the table.

“Now, I will be telling you the details right now.” She cleared her throat and opened her binder to tell us the main details.

“All students will be attending the trip, who have the passing grade from the testing will go on the trip. Everyone will be grouped in twos for the tents, and that includes coed. There will be an event for each of the paired tent mates will be together also. The trip is three days long, so make sure to pack right. But, also remember not too much, you are going to have to carry your own bag. Your tent mates will be sent to your dorm room. Have a good day.” Class was dismissed and everyone left.

I stayed in my seat, and watched everyone walked out. Jay also stayed in his seat, most likely fallen asleep. Once the room was silent, I spoke.

“Meet me in the gym tonight.” I stood up and went for the door. At the door, I waited to hear a response.

“I will be there.” He said. I smiled and walked out.

After dinner, we got our information.

Tent- Green Group

Mate- Jay Dillon

I scolded at the paper, as Benni read it.

“You poor thing. He is such an arse.” I laughed.

“And a flirt.” We both laughed.

Later into the night, I left for the gym. Once in, I climbed the wall, I sat of the extra mats, finding myself sleepy. I lay down and closed my eyes.

The next time I opened my eyes, I found my head cushioned on Jay’s lap. He pat my hair unaware that I was awake.

“We are in the same group!” I whispered. He looked down at my face, and smiled. We continued to talk until midnight, and then, we left.

Once in bed, I thought back to the look in his eyes when he was looking down at me, there was something else.

Finally, it’s Thursday. Everyone went down the green the to the entrance. At the entrance, there were four coach buses.  We sat wherever we wanted to.

I sat on bus two with Brody and Benni. Brody sat next to me, and Benni sat across the aisle with Kayla, who also had a channel, and were planning out what to do for Vid Com. The five-hour drive was warm, and the bus was wildly loud. I put on my earphones and listened to my music. In the end, I leaned my head on Brody’s shoulder. When I was woken up, we were three minutes away from the final destination, I found myself looking out at wilderness.  I packed up my bag again, and sat ready to get off. Once off, we went to a big clearing.

In the center was a pile of backpacks and black bags. A tall man with camo on, spoke to us.

“Welcome class from, Edward’s English High School. Your trip will take over for the next three day; today, full tomorrow, and the day after till 4 p.m. The perimeters of the camp, are fenced, so don’t worry. There is no wild life inside the fence, other then deer and small critters, so be mindful of you garbage. Next up, you are to give in all electronics you have, and you will be patted down for any snacks, weapons, electronics.” He pulled out one of the black bags, and everyone put in their stuff, everyone went through the machines, and then we assembled again.

“Next up, we are going to supply you with a backpack with the necessities for camping, and there is room to put clothes in. If you want, you can bring your other thing, but I recommend you leave the rest here.” He stopped again, and everyone decided on whether they wanted to take everything, or leave it. I decided to leave my bag, and put in the clothes. Everyone assembled for the next instructions.

“Now, you and your partner will get together, and you should have learned in school how to use a compass. We will give you the degree to your tent, and then just keep going back, till you see your number. You will set up your tent and dinner there. Then we will play a blare on the watchtower, and everyone is expected to come and do the campfire, and have a desert. Until then, have fun.” Everyone cheered, and went to look for their partners. I walked up north and waited for Jay appeared from the crowd, with the paper, dinner, tent, and chairs.

“Help, please.” I nodded and took the tent, a chair, and paper. I put in the degree, and we started to run into the forest.

“Let’s loose everyone before we actually talk.” He said, and I nodded. This was going to be fun.
