After Jay arrived back at the meet area, the teacher was giving out the last instructions. This time, Jay came back dressed in a green camo muscle top, camo patterned pants and a pair of black converses.

“That’s going to make such a difference.” I snickered. He glared at me and then went back to watching the teacher. She had put up our names and pictured on the big screen. Our names put filed by homeroom classes and then was divided by male and female. The shuffle button was clicked, and the classes were divided becoming two solid groups. Finally, all movement stopped and the results appeared.

“These are the teams for today’s game. Red team, head north, that way, to your flag holder and fort. Blue team, head south, that way, to your flag holder and fort. The blare will sound when the game begins, in approximately 30 minutes.  All armor will be provided and any people wearing the white polo and navy shorts, holding no gun, are the mentors, or watchers. They will call in for players that have either opted out or cannot continue the game. The blare will go off again, signaling the end of the game, and everyone is to meet here. Now, begin your run to the forts.” People began sprinting in all directions. But, being that I was on the out crowd, I quickly climbed a tree, and sat on a branch, looking at the board. I saw I was on Blue Team. Meaning I was on the right direction. Looking at the teams I cheered to myself. On my team, I had Brody and Ray, but sadly, Benni was on the other team. As for the rest of the crew, they were spread out on my team and the other team.

“Hey! Come on. Tell us me who we have.” I looked down and saw on a lower branch sat Jay. I jumped down from my spot, and we walked into the forest.

“We have Brody, Tony, Kayla and Finny. As for the rest, they are on the other team.” He nodded and we walked up a hill. Ahead of us, we saw that there was already a clump of people ahead. Also people walked through the forest, but slowly.

“Let’s go up. There is no one there.” I pointed at the tree next to me and looked to Jay who looked at the tree, and then back at me.

“Um. How about you climb, and I walk?” I looked at him, and then cracked a smiled.

“Don’t tell me that the fearless Jay, is scared of height.” He looked at me meekly and then at the trees.

“No, it’s more towards I’m scared of falling. There are no mats of the ground to land on.” I nodded and started to climb a tree.

“Fine then, you can walk and I will climb. We can deal with that.” I finally reached a good branch, and climbed to the next tree. We went on like this for about 5 more minutes until we got to what was going to be home base. It was a deserted warehouse, walls crumbling in places, and crowds of other students. Jay and I walked over to gear and got in them. I was left in a half jumpsuit, sleeves tied around my waist. A face helmet, a chest guard and open finger gloves completed the rest of my appearance. I got a small pooch of the paint balls and my gun. With that, I walked away from the bench I was sitting on and climbed the stairs of the building to the roof.  Looking out, I could just see over the trees. The blare sounded and noise aroused down stairs. People started to plan out things.

“Let the games begin.” I smiled looking out.
