Once at the home base, everyone walked away from their teams and to their own friends. I walked with Brody and Ray over to our friends, who had all set up a blanket and a basket of food. Everyone gathered around, including Ray and one of his friends, Harrison, also known Harry. We all gobbled down our food, like animals, and then we were laying on the ground, just watching the clouds.
“Hey.” I looked to my side, and saw that Jay was laying next to me and smiling back at me. I nodded to him and he sat up.
“Do you want to go to the cliff?” I nodded and we both got up. Everyone else was sleeping, of on their own or snogging somewhere. Jay and I walked back to our tent to get our gear. I put on my bikini from earlier and chose some clothes to put on, on top.
I put on a blue swan patterned cotton kimono, with a black jumper under it. And a pleated, navy blue skirt and black wire sandals that had white soles. I went out of the tent and saw that Jay had somehow already changed into a blue muscle tank and cargo style trunks and black flip flops.
“Let’s go then?” I nodded and we walked off to the cliff.
Once at the top, I took off my shoes and put down my bag. I pulled off my clothes and went to the edge. I looked back to Jay. He had taken off his shirt, giving ma another view of his tan, smooth, toned chest. After a second I snapped out of it, and grabbed his hand. I pulled him hard, and ran off the cliff. We both screamed in delight and the water rushed to us, engulfing us. I froze for a little, enjoying the cold sensation of my bare skin, and then kicked up. At the surface, I took a huge breath and opened my eyes.
“Where did you go?” I turned in surprise, and landed in Jay’s chest. Both of us stiffened from the closeness, but didn’t move away from each other. After a few seconds of just floating there, staring at each other, I broke away.
“I like the water. So, was sinking. I like the feeling. That’s all.” He coughed and we both swam to shore and got out. At the top, I wrapped myself in my towel and pulled out the blanket I had brought in my bag. I sat on it, and let Jay sit next to me. We sat silently watching the sunset.
“Um… do you mind?” I looked to him, and saw that he was hesitating to put his arm on my shoulder. I shrugged, and he took this as a yes. He gingerly put his arm around me and pulled my closer.
At first, I sat stiffly. Then, I let myself sink into his chest. His warmth radiated off of him and his arm seemed to fit right in place. We both watched the sunset until there was barely light out anymore. I finally untangled myself from him and stood up.
“We should probably be heading back now, right?” Jay nodded and we put back on our regular clothes. We folded our things into my bag, and headed down. Jay turned on the flash light and took my hand.
“Be careful. Don’t trip on anything.” I nodded even though I knew he couldn’t see me. Once at the base, we walked in and got some dinner. We went back to where we had sat in the afternoon and saw that everyone was still there.
“Someone got all up and steamy this afternoon.” Benni said from the left corner of the blanket next to Brody. I blushed and shook my head.
“No, we went to the cliff for one more time. We are leaving tomorrow.” I made the point and she gave me a thumbs up.
“Perfect excuse.” I turned to Jay and saw that he was just as red as I was.
“They don’t believe us.” I said to him and he nodded.
“You don’t say…” We all sat and conversed.
“What are you doing this summer, Mar? Going home?” I nodded.
“Yeah. Carrie’s getting married in the summer, so I want to spend time with her before then. You know, since her fiancé lives in New York City. And where they are both moving.” Everyone nodded.
“How about you, Jay? What are you doing this summer.” He shrugged.
“Maybe I’ll visit my parents for a day or two. They’re always busy, so they won’t have more then maybe a lunch to see me.” His summer sounded sad.
“Where do you live anyway?” I asked him. Of all things not to know, none of us really talked about home. Since we were all at this school, miles and miles away from home.
“Florida. A while away from Miami. And all of you are from California.” I nodded and Benni spoke up.
“I’m from Manhattan.” We all went on to talk about another topic, leaving the topic of home alone. After all, we all had been here the year before, and had grown close with each other. Home sickness wasn’t a problem anymore. We had always found ourselves more occupied with other things to even think about home, and over all I didn’t mind it.

The next morning, I woke Jay up.
“Wake up. We have to start packing. We are leaving today!” I shook him hard, and he groaned, getting up.
“You are a morning person, aren’t you?” I nodded and smiled. Usually, I was an early riser. But, during school days, I never saw a time to wake up early. Since usually the night before I was going to bed late, and sleep was the best at relieving stress.
Once he was up, I started to roll our sleeping bags and putting them into the bags. By now, we were both comfortable with both changing in the tent. Him in his corner, and a blanket dividing in the middle. I changed into a white, loose t-shirt, that showed my black bra. My last shirt of course. I would never dress like this. Then, a pair of kaki pants, rolled up a little bit, and then my black converse. My hair in a half up, half down do. I packed the rest of my clothes into the bag, and everything I could fit. Once done, I took my bag out and helped Jay take down the tent.
We walked out to the base, and put away the sleeping bag and the tent at the table. We both went to another table, grabbed breakfast for ourselves, and sat on the bleachers. We waited about 10 minutes before Benni and Brody walked out. We all sat by ourselves, being that we were early. Soon everyone arrive, and we went over roll call. Then everyone got onto the buses. For the ride back, I sat on the inside, and Jay sat on the outside. I took out a book, and he talked to his friends. Soon, I fell asleep.
When we arrived at the school, Jay shook me awake, and he got up.
“We have arrived.” I nodded and rubbed my eyes. I looked up and saw that Jay had already gotten off the bus, Mickey fallowing behind. Hanna turned back to me and smirked.
“Looks like he got tired of his girl toy. Too bad.” They all walked off. Leaving me confused.
