The night was dark as Jay and I walked to our tent. Laughing together about our school year disasters.

“… And then Mickey tripped over her own dress, and she went face first into the chocolate fountain!” We bursted out laughing. We finally got to the tent, and I went in first to change. I came out wearing a white t-shirt, a North Face jacket, and a pair of sweat pants. He walked in and got changed. I set up the chairs and started up the fire again. He came out and sat with me. He wore a red t-shirt, and hoodie, and a pair of sweats. After the fire was toasty, I stared at the stars. They twinkled in the sky, and made the sky look less black. Some of the smoke floated up, creating small illusions of pictures.

“Don’t they look like clouds? Showing pictures.”  Jay mirrored my thoughts and nodded, still watching the smoke. I pointed to a wisp.

“Doesn’t that look like a crumpled rose?” He shook his head.

“I see a raging sea and a boat.” He both laughed softly and watched the soft wind pick it up and fly into black sky.

After about an hour, I finally got up.

“I’m going to bed.” Jay nodded, staring at the smothering fire. I went into the tent, and got into my sleeping bag. I heard the zipped open and close and heard his feet as he trekked over to his bag. I drifted off to sleep, but could feel a pair of arms wrap around my waist. I snuggled my face deeper into the buff chest and fell asleep.

I woke in the morning and found myself face first in a soft, yet hard, chest. I tried to turn, but couldn’t get out of the grip around my waist. I inhaled and smelled the familiar sent of vanilla. I groaned and tried to pull away from the grip. I heard a groan from the other personas well, and felt the person snuggle closer. This got me annoyed and tried to wiggle out again. Finally the person realized I was trying to get out, they untwined their hands from my waist.

“Mar?” I looked up and saw that the “someone” was Jay.

“God, I’m not a hugging pillow.” I retorted, and also sat up. He looked alarmed for a moment, but then smirked.

“But you liked it.” My face turned a tint of pink, but then returned the smirk.

“But, it seemed like you enjoyed it more then me.” This time, Jay turned pink. He went out of the tent, and I decided to change. I came out of the tent wearing my clothes for the day. A red t-shirt, a black vest on top, a pair of black ripped jeans, and my black converses. My hair was up in a high ponytail.

Jay got up right away, and walked into the tent, and got changed. He came out wear a red muscle shirt, a pair of kaki shorts, and a pair of white high tops. I laughed at him, and he glared at me. He sat down next to me, and we ate.

“I think today will be just dandy, don’t you?” We came to the clearing where everyone else were. I smiled at Jay as we walked over to the group. He glared at me again. I had been laughing all breakfast, not telling him why, and it showed that he was annoyed about it. I waved to our group and they looked up to me. They then looked at Jay, and bursted out laughing. He stomped his foot like a kid, and pouted at them.

“Can someone tell me what is wrong?” He asked. The megaphone of the stage went off, and everyone quieted down.

“Okay, campers. Today we will be doing the paint ball fight. I hope you came prepared. In the next ten minutes, I will be splitting you into the two teams.” Everyone cheered, except for Jay. He had a scold on his face and glared at me. I just shrugged.

“I thought you already knew.” He gave me the middle finger, and raced off to a teacher and asked to get to change. She frowned, but nodded. I watched him run back into the forest like he was about to get murdered.
