After school the three boys met at Miles' locker and then left the building together.

"Okay, first we'll go to the best burger restaurant in the world!", Nate decided enthusiastically and lead them through the crowded streets.

Five minutes later he stopped in front of a small shop and pushed open the door.

"Jonathan!", a dark-haired man called out from behind the counter and waved at them with excitement.

"Miles, this is my uncle Zac", Nate introduced him and ran towards him to say hello. Finally he led Scott and Miles into the kitchen.

Miles watched him putting all the ingredients for burgers on the tables and then looking at his friends happily: "Let's go!"

Miles stood there irresolutely for a moment, but when Scott and Nate started tinkering their burgers, he did the same.

Making the burgers by themselves was even better than just eating them and a few minutes later Scott and Miles had finished, while Nate was still working on his meal on the other side of the kitchen.

"Nate, come on, I'm starving", Scott laughed, but Nate just muttered: "Shht! Don't distract me."

Scott and Miles shared an annoyed look, then Nate finally turned around. On his plate he balanced a burger that was bigger than his own head.

"Dadadadammmmm!", he proudly presented his masterpiece and walked back into the room with the tables in slow motion.

Nate's burger-building-skills were indeed impressive, but eating such a burger turned out to be a lot more difficult.

In the end all of them sat there with full stomachs and empty plates, when Nate suddenly straightened up.

"What's the matter?", Miles frowned.

Scott looked towards the door and then grinned: "The love of his life just entered the room."

Nate kicked him under the table, but then continued watching the girls that were looking for a place to sit.

"Which one?", Miles asked quietly and Scott answered: "The red-haired one. Her name is Gwen. Nate has had a crush on her for ages now, but this chicken never talks to her!"

"I'm not a chicken!", Nate grumbled.

"Then go talk to her", Miles said and Nate immediately sank back into his chair: "No, not right now ..."

Scott rolled his eyes, but Miles would not give up so easily: "What are you afraid of?"

"She could laugh at me?!"

Now Miles rolled his eyes: "Come on, she has even looked over here a few times. Just talk to her, you won't die!"

Nate muttered something, then Miles suddenly stood up.

"What are you doing?!", Nate hissed with panic in his eyes and Miles shrugged: "I'm going to talk to her for you."

"No!", Nate grabbed his arm.

"Then do it yourself!", Miles laughed.

Nate blushed, but then jumped and straightened his back, before he walked over to the girl's table.

Miles looked after him with surprise and sat down. Scott stared at him with disbelief: "Wow! You really made him talk to her ..."

Miles grinned: "Looks like it. I must have a lucky streak, so: What girl do you want me to bring you together with?"

Scott looked at him for a while, without saying anything, then he shook his head: "No girls."

Miles blinked a few times, then he understood: "Oh."

Scott scanned his face waiting for a reaction, then Miles smiled again and corrected himself: "Okay, what boy do you want me to bring you together with?"

Scott just shook his head grinning and Miles pouted: "Sad. But tell me when you need a wingman."

"Sure", Scott laughed and Nate returned to their table with a big smile on his face.

"So?", Scott and Miles said at the same time, when he had sat down.

"I've got her number", Nate announced proudly and showed them the piece of paper in his hands.

Both of them started cheering loudly while Nate desperately tried to calm them down.

Suddenly Miles phone rang and he frowned when he pulled it out of his pocket.

"Yes?"

"Miles, where are you?", the voice of his Dad sounded through his phone.

"I'm with some friends, why?"

"Come home, it's important", and with that he ended the call.

Miles was confused and put his phone away, then he stood up: "Sorry guys, I have to go."

"See you tomorrow!", they said, then Miles left the restaurant.
