Chapter Nine

Cody

"Grandpa, what was so important that it couldn't wait till later?" I asked

"I know you want to know what just happen to Paige, but I need to understand why that happened?" Anthony asked. "Did by any chance Paige drank shifter's blood? If she did how much?"

"Why? What does that have to do with Paige flashing? Vampire does flashing not us." I argued

"Cody, answer my question, you just became alpha, you don't know everything. Now answer" Anthony exclaimed.

"Fine, when Paige was hurt I gave her my blood to drink, but she was half out of it so, she only took 1-2 sips, but that wasn't enough to heal her and I couldn't loose her so, I bled on her wounds directly and her body took my blood and she started healing. Also when we came home I gave her my blood as medicine to drink. She wasn't suppose to drink the whole jug but she did" I explain

"I was afraid of this, everything is happening too fast, she was supposed to be eased into our world not pushed. Anyway now that it has already happened, all we can do is wait and watch what happens next and be there for her when she needs us" Anthony said

"Grandpa! Will you tell me what's happening or are you just going to mumble" I asked

"Paige is turning into supernatural like us but because she is not your average human, your blood is reacting different to her. When you gave her your blood, she was already bitten and scratched by peter's wolf so she was already half way to the transformation. She drank your blood and and she must have liked it to be able to finish whole jug, also she flashed, which is vampire's trait. Her body took blood when you bled on her wound, which is witches trait. I don't know where this is going but most importantly when she flashed out from tent , I saw her and she was in white wolf form so, she has already turned. Only difference is usual turning wait until full moon and it's really painful. Paige was in pain before she flashed out but she will be in lot of pain for night yet to come and we don't know what's in store for us. Keep an eye on her as you don't know what's going to happened. I will handle Peter and if I need you I will let you know. And Cody have you read the prophecy? it might be good idea to read it again and understand it. Prophecy are not simple, they have more than one meaning. See if you can find out if any other lore kind has similar prophecy?" Anthony looked at me with pity in his eye.

"Thanks grandpa, I will" I left with that.

I went to see what Lucas and Paige were up to. I took food with me for Paige as she will need as much energy as possible with what's coming next. The question is how do I stop her from finding out what is happening. When I went upstairs Lucas was sitting on the couch with his eyes closed and Paige was pacing the room .

"Hey guys, are you hungry? I am sure no one has eaten so let's eat." I said " Lucas what's happening?" I asked pointing at Paige with my head.

"She hasn't stopped pacing the room since we got here" Lucas explained. "she is not even talking to me and all this moving around is making me dizzy".

"Paige" I called. "Paige". Paige looked at me and there was a lightning outside and with lighting her eyes glowed silver. Silver? I don't know what is happening to Paige and i don't know how to stop it. If what grandpa said is correct and she flashed to wolf, then her eyes should be yellow and not silver. Paige looked outside and smiled and went to the balcony and then there was another lightning. To closed to Paige for my liking but she seems to be bathing in it and glowing with it. Only Valkyries have silver eyes and they glow with lightning as well. How is Paige getting mixed up with all the lore kind?

"Lucas, I want you to find out if other lore creatures have similar prophecy as us or not? If they do I want you to find them and bring them to me Asap. Something is happening to Paige and we don't know what. You saw her flashing, grandpa saw her in wolf form and now her eyes are glowing silver." I was getting headache with all this, and needed to sort this mess out. Lucas left straight after.

"Paige, will you please come inside? I need to speak to you" I called. When she came inside her eyes were still glowing silver. She didn't say anything and sat down on the sofa and closed her eyes. I sat on the floor on my knee in front of her and couldn't stopped my self from touching her. Her glow was incredible and when I touched her, her eyes opened and looked straight at me. It felt ages since she looked at me and my wolf howl with triumph.

"The only thing I am interested in knowing is what is happening? And how do I fit in all of this? If you can't answer my questions, then I would appreciate if you could book a ticket for me to go back home." She said calmly.

"I promise, I will tell you everything tomorrow, as I don't know, what is happening to you as well, but trust me on this, I won't let anything happen to you, while I am there. I need you to learn some self defence move, so you could protect your self if ever I am not there. I will tell you everything as soon as I know. Please trust me." Her eyes stopped glowing and they were back to being beautiful bright green.

"Let's eat something and then rest. We have long day ahead of us" I told her by offering food and was surprised when she obliged and came forward to eat. She must have been hungry after all the energy spending. I gave her chicken piece to eat as she needs lots of protein. She took it without arguing and seams to be enjoying it, so I offered her whole plate, which she took it. I took my plate and sat down next to her on couch, she looked at me for a second and then went back to her eating. I felt at peace that I was feeding my mate, only if I could keep her safe from whatever is happening to her. She must be really tired as her eyes started to close and she fell asleep on my shoulder. I didn't want to wake her as for the first time she was close to me, how can I deny that to myself. my wolf was at Peace by having his mate next to him.

I didn't want to wake her but she was having nightmare and no matter how strong I am, I can't fight her inner monster for her. If I could I would. My wolf was tearing at me to come out and help her, but I can't help when she needed me the most. Her head was on my shoulder and her right hand on my chest and while she was having nightmare her claws were getting bigger by second and started to dig into me. Her claws broke my skin and i started to bleed. She clawed me and woke up crying. I held her close and let her cry as she needed to deal with whatever was happening to her. She needs to deal with Peter, Anthony, me and prophecy as soon as she can, because everything is happening really fast and we are running out of time. If what grandpa is saying is correct than Paige is connected to all the supernatural in Lore and when they realise that, they are all coming for her. Paige started shaking and started getting fur on her arms and then she started to levitate. I had to hold on to her tight to make sure nothing happens to her. She was blinking in and out of existence as well. Oh hell how am I to help her. My only hope is that whatever is this, stops soon. I held her until she stopped having nightmares and became unconscious because off the exhaustion.

Thankfully nothing happen after that and I mange to get some sleep as well. Paige woke up but looked really tired and I Insistent that she goes back to sleep again. She wasn't very happy about it but went to sleep anyway. Lucas came soon after and Paige woke up and started talking to him. I swear she talks to him more then me and it annoys the hell out of me. Since Lucas is here she's not going to get any sleep so might as well start with her self defence training. Someone knocked on the door and Lucas answered it. He took the message and closed the door before turning.

"Cody, Anthony wants to see you pronto; pack matters." He relayed " I'll stay with Paige until you come back".

"Fine, but after that we need to talk about what I asked you yesterday. I hope you know how important it is to me" I left saying that.
