Chapter Twelve

Paige

I hope I did the right thing by agreeing to go with Cody. I think I fell really hard for him that I can't even deny him anything. I think I don't want to go away from him. Thinking about never seeing him makes my heart cry, but I am giving him this last chance, I don't know for him or me? I know I had to ask because last time I saw the score he was loosing and if Peter won than I am never going with Cody even if I have to break my promise.

"Ahhem Cody?  Who won? Last time I saw the score you guys were loosing?" " if Peter won than I am not going anywhere with you but going home!" I panicked.

"Relax Paige ,  we won! I don't know how but we did. In the last few second all the rabbit came to life.  I can tell you that from all that I caught they were all dead and I have the best controlled of everyone. " replied Cody. "Are you ready to go?"
"Yeh" I relied greeting up.  I don't know if I got up too quickly or what but I fell back straight back on to the bed. 

"She might be still bit weak from the tea I gave her, she was suppose to be out for another hour or so.  I don't think you should take her now.  Wait until, she is able to walk properly." Lady whose house I was in replied

"Thank you for your help" I know if she didn't help me than I would have been in those dogs stomach or lying dead outside. So I thanked her for her help.

"Don't thank me yet.  I have told your mate all my conditions and he has agreed .  He will explain to you what needs to be done. " than she turn to Cody and said " if you want to go, go now but don't forget our bargain"

"Bargain?" I asked Cody

"I will explain when we get home" replied Cody and carried me in his arm and start walking as if I weight nothing more than packet of crisp.

He carried me all the way to his house and I can tell you it was far.  I could see that he was getting tired and was swaying and sweating. I know it is hot but I have never seen him sweat before.  Come to think of it I don't think any of the people I have met ever showed any tiredness or I have never seen them sweat either.  Cody was slowing down and I could tell each step was costing him to walk. 
"Cody, I am feeling much better now.  Can you put me down so that I could walk by my self."  Cody put me down and took my hand in his hand and start walking.
" you can let go of me, I can walk by my self .  I am feeling much better and I promise I won't fall down."
" it's for me as much as you.  Touching is keeping me calm and keeping me anchor to you" he replied.  We must have walked for another half an hour and Cody started breathing heavily and was falling behind me. I must have walked ahead of him when I felt pressure on my hand.  When I looked back he was bleeding, no!  Not bleeding as it was not blood but something silvery was coming out of his ear.  Not much just a drop so I didn't think of it and went back to help him walk. He must be really tired from last two days as well. He didn't sleep yesterday either and stayed up whole knight looking after me. I put his hand around me and carried, dragged him to the rest of the way. Lucky for me it was not that far, may be five minutes walk. As soon as we got there someone came running out of the house and carried him to his room. I followed them to his room where Megan was waiting for us.
"Are you ok, Paige?" She asked.
"Yes, but what is wrong with Cody? Is it because he is tired from game or something horribly wrong with him. Can you call doctor please".
"He is been poisoned by silver and it's killing him. We need to get poison out off him asap". Replied Megan
I can see she was getting agitated and kept glancing at Cody as if she was worried about him getting mad at her. She left me with him saying stay with him and she will be back soon. I went to check on Cody who was on the bed where the guy left him. I put my hand on his temple to see if he had temperature and it was all sticky.  When I looked at my hand I could see that it was shiny as if I had put glitter in my hand. As I was getting up Cody caught my wrist and told me not to go anywhere and stay with him.
I held his hand assured him that I am here and not going anywhere.  I will be here when he wakes up.  He must have believed me as he fell  asleep again. I think the tea that lady gave me still making me dizzy as I must have dozed of as well.  I don't know what woke me up but I woke really scared but wasn't sure what off. Then I realised that Cody was having some kind of seizure or something as he was thrashing in the bed. I couldn't even go near to him as his body was  shaking  all over.
I just didn't want to believe it but he was glowing as if someone just switched the light on from inside of him and the inner bulb was giving out this warm glow.  One second he was shaking all over with this weird glow and next he was that dog from the rabbit game. Wait! What?

I didn't think I was that stupid, but when it's in front of your eyes you miss it or in my case I just didn't want to believe it. How can it be? If I believe in Lucas' magic and his aura than I need to believe in werewolf. Those weren't the dogs playing, those were the werewolf. I saw Cody change from human to werewolf in front of my eye. He is lying there in wolf form so there is no question about me not believing. He looks like he is in so much pain and liquid silvery substance was coming out of his wounds. I didn't know what to do but I wanted do something or more like needed to do something. Those weren't peter's dogs, those were werewolf. At that lady's house Cody said all the rabbit I cough were dead.  Then I thought he must have slipped up but he was saying it as it was.  I don't know to be angry with him or be scared of him.  He hasn't harm me yet and kept saving me and stood up for me against Anthony, who is scary as hell.  I could see in between all my revelations to my self Cody was getting worse.  All I wanted to do was pull all the silver out of him that was making him sick.  I closed my eyes wishing  I could just pull it out as if it was string in my hand and slowly slowly all the silver was gathering near my feet.  I could even feel the silver string in my hand and I kept pulling and pulling as if it was real.  I don't know how long I pulled but suddenly it was gone from my hand.  I felt bad for day dreaming and thinking about helping Cody but not being able to do anything about it.  I looked at the wolf sleeping next to me who look so peaceful as if he wasn't poisoned by silver or anything.  Wait, he did look good.  No more shivering or making that whiny noice.  Did someone helped him while I was day dreaming? I got up to see what was taking Megan so long and why hasn't anyone came to help Cody with his poisoning. I hope it's not too late because he is not moving or anything. As I put my foot ok the floor it slipped on something sticky . Lucky my other leg was still on bed otherwise I would have broken something knowing my luck this past few days. There was nothing there before so I bent down to look at it. I touched it and smelt it. It was silvery sticky substance looked like mercury that you get it in thermometers.  I remember when I was my dad telling me not to touch it as if it was poison. While I was experimenting with silver and remembering my past Cody turned back to human form. He has some explaining to do before anything else.  I sat up staring to look at him with little bit anger in my eyes.  "So!? Is there anything that you would like to tell me before someone else comes and disturbed us? " I got up and locked the door whilst asking him as it was not looked but just ajar. "May be something like why the dogs around here are so huge like bear size? Special breed? Or may be how are you connected with you dog when you were playing the game? Or may be you would like to start with you being werewolf?" 
I must have looked angrier than I felt because he came off the bed rushing thinking I was leaving him again.  He thought I was leaving him and when I went to closed the door.  He thought door was already locked and I opened it as if to leave. He was there within a second and held me closed to him and started inhaling heavily. When I asked what he was doing he said he was soaking into my scent as it was calming him down.  He explained everything from the beginning including us being mate is not friendship king mate but husband- wife kind of mate.  He also explained the lady in the cottage who helped me was witch and what were condition were.  Of course there are witches, why not if there are  werewolves. But that is got latter right now he needs to explain to me about Peter and why he was after me. But before he could explain someone knocked on the door which he opened.
