Kya
"Kya, when did Sokka and Katara leave?" Gran-Gran questions walking into our tent while I sew one of my dresses.
"About two hours ago, they should be back soon." I answer continuing to sew.
"Well I hope they hurry, some of the children are getting hungry." Gran-Gran explains sadly.
I nod as Gran-Gran walks back out of the tent.
I hope Katara and Sokka hurry back with something to eat. Everyone's hungry. Including me.
I walk out of the tent and the cold southern air hits my face. I look around. Everyone is standing around the dock. What's going on?
I make my way to the dock and push through the villagers and get to the edge. I glare a few feet ahead of me into the water.
There's a huge furry animal in the water with my brother and sister sitting on top of it in a saddle! What the heck?!
"Get off that thing guys!" I yell as I cautiously move towards the huge animal to help Sokka and Katara down.
"Kya, come help us, I don't think he's okay." Katara explains worriedly as she holds a boy in her arms.
Come on, Katara... You bring lost animals home and now you bring a real human boy!
I look at the boy. He's slumped over and I can see beads of sweat roll down his light colored face. He doesn't look okay.
"Sokka, get him off that thing and bring him to the tent," I order turning to Sokka.
Sokka grabs the boy from Katara's lap, throws him over his shoulder and slowly climbs down the furry animals back. Sokka comes over to me and I walk with him to the tent.
When we get there I hurry and remake the furs I was sitting on and direct Sokka to lay the boy down. He does.
I feel the boys forehead. He's burning up, I need to cool him down . I take off the orange shawl that covers the boys chest.
"Kya, he's going to freeze to death." Sokka complains just like usual.
I roll my eyes. I know what I'm doing Sokka...
"Sokka he's burning up, I need to cool him off somehow." I reply to my older brother annoyed.
I feel Sokka's eyes burn through me, I don't care. I know what I'm doing so get off my back!
"Sokka, can you please get me a bowl of water?" I ask as I turn around to face my beady eyed brother.
Sokka nods and walks out of the tent clenching his fists.
I look back at the boy for a moment. He has big grey eyes and a bald head. Something was different about this boy. He has weird clothes on. They're a monks clothing. I noticed the blue arrows all over his body, he's a Airbender. They all suppose to be all extinct?
Suddenly Sokka walks back into the tent with a small bowl of water. He puts it down next to me.
"Thank you." I say grabbing a a rag out of one of the baskets next to me and dipping it into the icy cold water.
Sokka's about to walk out of the tent but I need him to do one more thing. I need to know what's going on.
"Sokka, will you get Katara?" I asked.
"Sure..." Sokka mumbles as he walks out of the tent.
I put the rag on the boys head. Who is this boy and what is he doing in the South Pole?
