Chapter 5: A Sight to Behold

Hiro, our crime scene analyzer, the person who had all the information was dead. Erika was the first to find him dead. "I was searching around cause since the gas came again... that had to mean someone died... I found Hiro here like this..." Erika was shaking and Cain held her to comfort her. "I'll take her somewhere and calm her down." Cain looked at me "You should investigate Azura. Youre probably the next best thing after Hiro..." He looks down and begins taking Erika away from the scene. Ryo took Rin and Suki to somewhere else so Ishi, Yashiro, Amani, and I were left to investigate.

"Well... I think whoever the culprit is was sick of Hiro solving and investigating so much." Yashiro calmly said. I couldn't stop looking at his face. His eyes were gone. It was so disturbing and gross. "Amani... I hate to ask but... could you look at his empty eye sockets? We may be able to guess what was used to remove his eyes if there's any markings around that area." I looked at her. She understood and immediately went to work. For someone who stutters and is shy, she was good at what she does.

"Ishi... Could you possibly look around for Hiro's eyes?" I asked him "...You want me to what?!" Ishi panicked "Find his eyes." I simply said in return "You... oh fine... This is gonna suck..." Ishi hangs his head and begins looking around.

"What do you want me to do oh fearless leader!" Yashiro stood straight like he was a soldier and I was the general. "Uhm... I guess you could help me by telling me anything useful? Youre a killer. Any ideas of who it may be?" I crossed my arms. Yashiro saluted to me and dropped the act "Well... the killer is beginning to kill the skilled ones..." Yashiro's eyes darted to Amani and he walked closer to me to whisper

"I think Amani is next... don't speak. Listen. The killer killed the crime scene analyzer. It'd make perfect sense if the one making the autopsy reports was the next to go. Don't you think?" He backed away and blinks at me. He was right. Amani might be next. "I can't tell her. She'd panic." I blinked back "...I know it's terrible but you should ask her about the autopsy of everyone so far. Get the info before she dies. On saving her... Alright. You and me will make sure to pass out near her so if we wake up before she dies, we can protect her. In fact... I've been practicing holding my breath. So far I've failed but I managed to count how long the gas stays in the room. It lasts 5 minutes. If one of us can not breath for 5 minutes, we can stay awake. I've been practicing but this time... I think I got it." Yashiro grins at me.

This was the first time I've seen him act... somewhat normal. I nodded to him. He was right. If she was next, I'd need to know the autopsy before she falls victim. Yashiro and I will try to save her but... Let's hope we can do it. I approached Amani "So... anything?" I asked her "I think the eyes were stabbed out." She said "Stabbed?" I tilt my head "I think the killer used a small object to stab his eyes out." She said.

Ishi suddenly ran in with a mug in his hands "SO GROSS!!!" He found Hiro's eyes "THEY WERE IN THE CAFETERIA REFRIGERATOR. IM GONNA GO PUKE NOW." He quickly ran out.

Yashiro, Amani, and I blink as all that happened and once he left we looked at the cup. Inside were a pair of eyes. Amani was right. Where Hiro's iris' were, there was a small hole where the killer jabbed into his eyes. What was small enough to do that? "Oh! Amani! I want to know the autopsies for everyone else please. For investigation reasons..." I lied. "Oh! Sure Azu! I mean Azura!" She quickly blushed and I heard Yashiro chuckle softly "So... Ryoma first."

I followed her to Ryoma's office where his body was lying on the floor with his coat covering him. Ryoma was the one who hired me to protect his daughter. He's the reason I was here. I promise Ryoma. I will keep Rin alive... Suki too. "Ryoma was stabbed in the chest which was the cause of death. He was then forced to hang onto the wall with the same knife."

Amani went to the woman's bathroom next where Lily was. "Lily was held down in the sink where she was drowned."

We left the women's bathroom and returned to Hiro's corpse. We didnt need to check Yushimoto and Jasmine's bodies. We knew what happened to those two. Plus those kills weren't by the killer. Suki killed Yushimoto to protect Rin and Jasmine committed suicide.

"And Hiro... well you know already." Amani started "I did notice something though..." Amani began to say before I heard Yashiro yell

"Hold your breath!" The gas was here. We both looked at Amani who fell asleep. We needed to stay awake now. She knew something we didn't. 5 minutes. Had to not breath for 5 minutes. I could hear more bodies fall with a thump until Yashiro and I were still up. With his free hand he held up 3 fingers. 3 more minutes. I nodded but as time went on, I couldn't do it. I breathed in air. My lungs felt like they were on fire. I was gonna suffocate before the time limit.

I looked at Yashiro as I fell over. Everything went black after I hit the floor.

I woke up slowly. The first thing I saw was Yashiro on the floor. "Yashiro!" Then I noticed his head. He was bleeding. "Yashiro...?" Was he dead? Thankfully no. I've never been happy to see a killer alive before. "What happened to him...?" I got up. Wait... what about Amani? I turned around and my eyes widened at the horrific sight I saw. Yashiro was right on the money.

Amani Eruma was dead.

I don't think Yashiro would of guessed this though.

I don't think Yashiro would ever even do something like this.

Amani was tapped to the wall with what looked like duct tape. Her wrists and ankles. Her mouth had tape over it to. Her eyes were wide and you could see she was crying. If you looked at her body though... then you'd see the most horrific sight I've ever seen. Amani's chest was ripped open and her insides were hanging out of her open torso. "A-Ama...Amani..." I backed up until my back was against the wall.

I screamed.
