Chapter 2: The Detective Hunt

Obviously, I was shocked. The dead corpse of Ryoma was hanging on the wall like a piece of art, displayed for all of us to see. I couldn't let this shock me for too long though. I had to look at everyone's faces for reactions. See if anyone had an odd reaction to seeing Ryoma. Rin and Suki were crying. They were probably the two who found their Dad's corpse. I noticed Hiro was doing the same, analyzing everyones faces. Everyone else except for Ryo had faces of horror and shock. Ryo had his head down. He was Ryoma's partner, he was probably feeling a ton of regret that he let this happen. In fact, how did this happen? I saw everyone. Did it happen while Ishi was showing me around? How come we didn't hear a struggle or cry for help?

"I want everyone's alibis now!" Ryo shouted. Some of us jumped at the sudden outburst. "I need to know where everyone was before we gathered here. Except for Cain." Ryo said.

"Why not Cain?" Hiro asked

"I was with Ryo in the holding cells. I guess that gives him an alibi too." Cain sighs. Him? He must be talking about the most likely person to actually kill someone. Yashiro. "Amani and Yushimoto were with me in the infirmary patching up my wound." Hiro explains to Ryo. "Lily and Jasmine were with me at the front desk" Erika gave their alibis. "What about you Ishi?" Ryo asks "And you too Guardian" Ryo glared at me. It was clear enough he had problems with me.

"Azura and I were together. I was showing him around. That's why we were the last ones here. We were on the other side of the base." Ishi quickly explains. I'm glad to have at least someone supporting me.

"Hey guys?" Hiro called out "You may want to see this." We all gathered around to a... piece of paper? Hiro picked it up and read aloud

"Welcome to my game! Your goal is to find me! The killer! This is how the rules work. You will each all have 1 hour to find as much as you can and figure out which one of you is the one causing all the murders here! After each hour, you will all be put to sleep by a special gas that'll pour in from the vents. If you haven't found me before each hour is up, someone new will die! May you all shine in my game, The Detective Hunt. Good Luck~~"

We all stood there confused, shocked, and taking in what the notice said. "W-What the fuck is this...?" Ryo stuttered. Hiro didn't waste any time "Everyone please leave the room so I can investigate the crime scene." Hiro was the best one here that could analyze a crime scene. Some of us started to leave before... "No fucking way! What if you're the killer!" The person who shouted that was... Suki. The eldest daughter of Ryoma "I respected your father... a lot of us did. You can trust me." Hiro calmly said.

Suki was going to say more but Amani took her hand and calmed her down and guided her out of the room. People began leaving "Just to make sure you wont mess with the scene I'm staying." I looked at Hiro. He nods and starts looking over the scene. While he did so I felt a tug on the bottom of my shirt. I looked down and saw Rin looking up at me "M-Mister..." Rin... She has lost both of her parents now. She was still so young. "It's going to be okay Rin. We're gonna find out who did this, okay?" I forced a smile upon myself so Rin could relax.

I hate lying. Things weren't okay. It was far from it. Who could of done this? "Hey Hiro? I'm gonna escort Rin out of here and Suki too. It's far too dangerous for the children to be here." I told him "...If you're calling Suki a child wouldn't that make you a child too?" He looks at me with a small smile. I couldn't help but smile back. It wasnt really an appropriate time for smiles but I think Hiro was just trying to help with the mood. We can't let death cloud our minds and this whole 'game' thing distract us. Keep you chin up and eyes forward towards the goal.

"I'll be back." I held Rin's hand and went to find Suki. I would eventually find her alone in the infirmary just sitting there. "Oi... you alright?" I asked her. She looked up at me. She had calmed down. "Yeah... I'll be fine." Rin went over to her and hugged her "I'm gonna escort you two out of here. It's too dangerous." I explained. Suki nodded and picked up Rin.

We began to walk out of the infirmary when suddenly the lights went out. "What?" This was unexpected. Then we heard a scream.

"You two stay here!" I ran off towards the scream. My heart was pounding. Nobody could of died yet! If the notice was true then nobody should of died yet! The orgin of the scream was in the women's bathroom. I barged in and saw... Amani... on the floor? I blinked and sighed. She slipped and freaked out when the lights went out

"Fuck Amani! You gave everyone a damn heart attack!" I groaned "Watch what youre doing and be careful..." Ishi had arrived too. The emergency lights came on not long after. "Fuck fuck fuck!" Ryo was slamming the wall "What's the matter?" I asked him outside the bathroom. "None of us are leaving anytime soon..." None of us are leaving? "What do you me-" I got cut off by... that voice... him.

"The front door is an electronic door to keep outsiders... well... out. How the tables have turned to keep everyone in." He chuckled.

Yashiro.

"Oh my cell door magically opened while the power was out~" He winked. Those yellow eyes stared into my very being. "You dont move a damn muscle!" Ryo slammed him against the wall. "Cain I want you to watch him at all times!" Cain nodded and Ryo let go of Yashiro "Dont worry. I'm not gonna kill anyone unless I have too. Don't you know anything?" He rubbed his neck. "I only kill married women." That's right. All his victims were women who were married. "Yashiro... why is that your choice? To kill married women?" I asked him. I wanted to know. He was about to speak before...

"Guys..." Ishi started. That's when we noticed the white gas coming in. Our hour was up. One by one bodies fell over. It wouldn't take long before I blacked out too.

My eyes would slowly open up and I groaned. I sat up and looked around. Ishi, Ryo, Yashiro, Rin, and Suki were in the same room as me. Where did everyone else go? I heard another groan. Suki had woken up too

"You alright?" I helped her up "Yeah... Everyone else still asleep?" She looked up at me with her dark green eyes. "I think so... I don't know where everyone else is." I looked around the room. "Hey... could you help me to the bathroom? My legs are still wobbly." I nodded and supported her up. As we made our way to the bathroom everything seemed normal before we went to sleep. I havent seen anyone else yet. We entered the womens bathroom. Then we barely saw... it. The sound of water spilled out of the sink due to it being overfilled, the water was still going in fact. The emergency light above the sinks though showed us... her. I couldn't tell who it was since they were twins. But one thing did confirm which one it was.

In her brown suit, Lily Hana had been forcefully drowned.
