Chapter 7: No Hope

I'm glad that I couldn't see the look on her face as she fell to the ground. The blood would stop spraying out but a lot of the spray was direcred at me. I had just killed Erika Shiki out of self defense. The most scary thing about it is how my body moved on it's own. It was a natural reaction to my body at this point to defend and kill a deadly target. I backed up and looked at my shaking hands. I had killed her. I could feel all of the guys' eyes on me. I couldn't say a word or move a muscle. Next thing I knew I was on the floor and I passed out.

It wasn't the gas that had made me pass out. I'm still not sure what caused me to do it. I've never gotten sick or anything from looking at dead bodies or blood. I've killed before but... this was different. She was just angry and sad. She was lost to despair. And I had killed her. I woke up to see Ishi with me. I was laying down on one of the beds in the infirmary

"About time you woke up, Az." Ishi smiled slightly. I slowly sat up and groan "Everyone can just call me Azura..." I looked down. I couldn't stop thinking about what had happened. I was snapped away from those thoughts as I heard yelling. "Don't worry bout that... Ryo is arguing with Yashiro." Ishi explained. "Why's that?" I asked "Well Ryo was watching Suki and Rin while you passed out. Yashiro wanted to help but Ryo snapped at him and now... well you can hear." He sighs.

Ever since I arrived here, Ryo couldn't stand Yashiro. Even when the game began he wouldn't stop his hatred for him. Why did he hate Yashiro out of everyone here? "Do you know why Ryo had such a grudge against Yashiro?" I asked Ishi "Well... to my knowledge Ryo is just like that. He's an ass to all criminals. Even the small crimes too." He replied. We sat there awkwardly in silence as the two argued. Well Ryo was the one yelling. Yashiro never raised his voice.

Why was Ryo fighting with him? We need to work together.

It dawned on me that not a lot of us was left. There was me, Ishi, Yashiro, Ryo, Suki, and Rin.

Was one of us really the killer? It was hard to accept that one of us 6 has caused all of this. "Hey Ish-"

I was interrupted by a single loud bang noise.

A gunshot.

One of us had a gun.

One of us... had a gun?!

Ishi and I looked at each other before we ran of the room. We turned the corner and were met with a sight that shattered our hopes even more.

Yashiro Yamato was on the floor dead with a single bullet hole in his head. We didn't have time to react or say anything at all. The gas had came to put us to sleep.

Besides Ishi, Yashiro was the other person I kinda considered a friend here. I know. Really odd thing to say about a murderer. The weird thing was, he didn't seem like one. If he was never caught or showed us how much knowledge of what a criminal would know, I think he'd pass by a normal guy. I wouldn't of suspected him. It doesn't matter anymore though. Yashiro was dead.

He was the one who told me about the gas and how it only lasted for 5 minutes.

And... I wouldn't let that info go wasted. As I laid on the floor I held my breath. That same burning sensation in my lungs was there but I wouldn't breath. I had to stay awake. Eventually, the gas was gone and I silently inhaled. The culprit might be walking around. If I made a noise I would be found out. The killer had to appear. Ishi was next to me, Ryo was across from me and Ishi... and Yashiro's corpse wasin between.

It then happened. Ryo's body started being dragged away by someone. Once the body was gone I sat up slowly and silently. I shook Ishi carefully and covered his mouth so he wouldnt make a noise if he woke up.

Thankfully he did wake up and he realized I didn't fall asleep and that the killer was near. We silently got up and followed the only path the killer could of taken Ryo's body. The cafeteria. Ishi and I silently walked down the hallway. My heart was pounding in my chest. I had to focus so my breathing stayed quiet and calm.

As we reached the door something dawned on me.

Where was Suki and Rin?

I wouldn't have to think for too long.
