Chapter 6: Lovers

I would never forget the sight of Amani's corpse. The shy, lovable nurse, Amani was brutally murdered. When Yashiro woke up, even he was terrified at the sight. Yashiro eventually went to go get everybody and once so everyone was there except for Suki and Rin. Probably told them that it was too much for them to see. Ishi took me out of the room and after a little bit of time, Yashiro came to me.

"I've got bad news. Murder weapon is nowhere to be found but we can take a good guess that it was a sharp object like a knife." He looked down. "Who would do something like that? Not even you would do that Yashiro." Ishi said. "Did somebody take her down and cover her body?" I asked while shaking. Yashiro nodded. "Ryo did. He told me to tell you what we managed to get together." I got up "Im going to go talk to Rin and Suki. I should be guarding them since I'm doing nothing." Ishi and Yashiro nod to me and I walk off.

I found them in the infirmary with Rin asleep. "Hey, Az." Suki looked at me as I entered "...This corpse too bad?" She asked "You don't wanna see it. I'm still shaking..." I sat next to her and looked down.

Then I suddenly felt warm.

She wrapped her arms around me.

"I'm sorry you had to see that..." She said softly to me. "It must of been really bad if it made you scream... all the other bodies seemed to have no effect on you." She whispered. "Well... I've seen dead bodies before. I've killed before. You get used to it but... this was unlike anything I've seen." I shivered. Amani's corpse flashed into my mind again. "It was so..."

I was suddenly hushed by a pair of lips on my cheek.

Suki kissed my cheek.

"Don't worry... just relax, Az. It'll be alright. Just try to forget about it. Okay?" She smiled a bit before letting go of me and walking off. As I sat there still processing what had happened, I softly touched where she kissed my cheek. "Suki...?" I mumbled.

"Azu?" I heard a child say. I was brought back to reality by the sound of Rin's voice. "Oh hello Rin." I put on a smile for her. "Did you have a nice nap?" I asked. "...Someone died again didn't they?" Rin looked down.

My smile dissapeared. "...Yeah." I replied softly. I didn't want to have to talk about this to Rin. She was 10 years old and stuck in an underground base where lives were being taken. The bodies kept getting more brutally murdered. "I'm not scared." Rin looked up at me. "Suki says no matter what, Azu and her will protect me!" She smiled. I smile back and boop her nose "Obviously. And I'm not doing it because of who I am. I'd be a terrible person if I didn't help a child in danger." I grin. Rin's eyes sparkled "You're like a real life superhero!!" She cheered. We both laughed. Rin was able to make me laugh. I forgot about everything. The game, the killings, the danger we were in. It all went away as Rin and I talked and laughed.

But... all good things have to end. The gas came once more and Rin and I would fall asleep.

I would wake up... with something soft against me. What was it? "...Huh?" I saw Suki cuddling into me. I quickly jumped up. When did she get here?! She wasn't close to me at all when I passed out! My answers would have to wait.

I heard a scream and immediately ran out of the infirmary. I didn't have to go far.

Erika was shocked in fear and probably sadness.

In front of her on the floor was the dead body of Cain Shifu. The boyfriend of Erika, who had found him.

In very short time, Ishi, Yashiro, and Ryo found us and looked to see Cain's corpse. It was clear how he died.

There were pencils stabbed into his body in multiple different locations.

"H-Honey?" Erika said softly "C-Cain?! Cain!! CAIN NO!!" She cried out. Ishi went to approach her but she screamed

"ALL OF YOU STAY BACK!" She looked at all of us. She was different all of a sudden. Her eyes were filled with tears but filled with something else too. Anger and... despair. "YOU. THIS IS YOUR FAULT!"

She glared at me "Erika calm down! Azura did nothing wrong!" Ishi yelled. "YOU SHUT THE FUCK UP! Don't you all see?! Azura is the killer! It has to be him!" I was too shocked to say anything. She had completely lost herself to despair. She went insane!

"Nothing bad ever happened until he showed up! Once he appeared we all got stuck here and everyone started dying!" Erika shouted and suddenly she pulled out a knife. She probably got it from the kitchen and had it with her for a way to protect herself.

"Erika. Put the knife down." Ryo calmly said and began to approach her slowly "Stay back! I'm going to kill him! If you get close to me I will kill all of you!" Ishi, Yashiro and Ryo looked at Erika and me, unsure of what to do. They couldn't do anything.

Then... everything went in slow motion. Erika went to stab at me.

Suddenly, my body reacted on it's own. I moved to the side. I wanted to run and not harm her but... my body reacted to this like I was on a mission. I couldn't control my movements. My hand grabbed her wrist and then I twisted her wrist, making her let go of the knife. My hand grabbed the handle of the knife. It was in my hands now... everything was suddenly in fast forward and next thing I knew...

Blood began spraying out.
