(Taylor's POV)

A screeching noise wakes me up from my sleep. I throw my head back and forth half asleep, trying to find where the noise is coming from. Lily's cell phone catches my eye forcing me to grit my teeth. I reach over and try to turn off the alarm without waking the beautiful girl, cuddled into my side. Picking her phone up, I read "alarm" in big letters leading me to the conclusion that she may just have school today. I internally chuckle at the fact that while other people may be awoken by an alarm for a meeting or something along those lines, my bed mate has to get to her locker before first bell. However, I'm not entirely irresponsible: just because I didn't go to school doesn't mean I'm not going to let her skip.

"Wake up princess," I try with playful voice. Lily's eyes immediately flutter open. She smiles so sweetly it almost makes me cringe to have to be the bearer of bad news. "You have to get up for school," I smirk. She is no longer smiling. Lily jumps up in a flash, grabbing for her phone, and dashing around my apartment not knowing what to do with herself. I put a cigarette to my lips and enjoy a nice morning smoke while Lily freaks out in front of me.

She curses, "Shit! I'm going to be so late. I don't even have clothes. My mom is probably looking for me." The life struggles of a teenager, something I never dealt with. I am so thankful I basically skipped over that stage. I put out my cigarette and decide to come to Lily's rescue like the Super Momsen that I am.

"Lily, calm down. Number one, it's just school I think you can afford one late if need be. Number two, you can borrow my clothes, we look to be about the same size. I have to go to the studio today anyway so if you want I can walk you there. Now go shower and feel free to grab anything from my closet. As long as it's not my favorite leather jacket. I'll make breakfast," I smile. Lily seems to calm down from my words. She runs up the stairs stirring up a commotion on the stairs and disappears behind my bedroom door with a slam. I make my way to the kitchen to start making eggs and anything else that I can scrounge together. These days I don't get to grocery as often as someone should.

Setting our plates on the counter and two black mugs of steaming coffee, Lily is all dressed and in front of me. I can't help but stare. She took my favorite leather jacket, of course, and a plain white t-shirt. My jeans are a little long but she still makes them look good. Lily runs her hand through her golden hair, giving me a big smile. "How do I look? All the kids at school are going to think I joined a motorcycle gang," she laughs. I didn't miss her playfully daring eyes challenging me to say something about the jacket.

My hands pull her towards me and give her a kiss. Bringing my lips to her ear I whisper, "I love a woman in leather." Lily blushes and I peck her cheek. "So I made eggs and toast." The teen is already scarfing her breakfast down letting me know she likes it. Checking the time, I realize I really need to get ready or the band will find a new singer.

"I can't believe you're actually walking me to school," Lily comments while we make our way down the busy sidewalk. Morning in the city is always the best. It's almost as amazing as the night time. Seeing people doing their morning commute and kids off to school, it always intrigued me. I think it's  how all these people have their own lives and they all cross in the morning. Like the guy who sells me coffee sometimes from the corner deli, he has two children and a dog. His wife died but he never remarried. It's honestly amazing how seeing him maybe three times every week led me to know all that information.

I laugh, "Well don't get used to it." From the corner of my eye I can see Lily's lips slightly turn down indicating a frown. You're doing the right thing Taylor. She needs to know this isn't going to turn in to anything. I can feel a new layer of ice cover my heart as I think these thoughts. Ice is good, it takes a lot of heat to thaw. As we approach the corner Lily's school is on, the beautiful girl stops me and grabs my arm.
