(Lily's POV)

A mother with her two small children is stationed in the park as we walk by. The two kids, one a boy and the other a girl, cry and scream trying to escape their carriage. Like any other Upper East Sider, they are dressed in outfits only an investment banker with a coke problem could afford. The mother, looking tired and run down, makes me realize she isn't actually the mom. She's the nanny because let's be real, no mom in this part of town is actually going to take her kids in the park.

The scene reminds me of when I was young and my own nanny would take me to Central Park. Those times were always so simple. Now, I'm sleeping with a woman who has a psycho best friend and could potentially be arrested because of the relationship we're having. Not to mention, she is a famous rock star. It's getting to be too much and I don't know if I want to keep dealing with it. I do though, I do because of the way Taylor will show me her true smile or hold me in her arms. Those are the reasons why this is all worth the risk.

Nick pops the rest of his ice cream cone into his mouth and takes my hand. "Remember that girl from the club?" Nick starts. I nod my head, somewhat remembering her. He smiles, "Well, we might be sort of seeing each other." I stop walking and turn to him. He's looking down shyly, waiting for my response.

"Are you serious? Wow, that's awesome, how come you haven't told me sooner?" I question. He shrugs and pulls me so we can continue walking on this gorgeous day.

He says, "Well you're kind of busy lately. It's not your fault; I just never got around telling you. Michelle is great though, I really want you to meet her." I think it over. I really have been a shit friend lately. I've been so absorbed in being with Taylor, I forgot about Nick.

"Why don't I meet her tonight?" I suggest.

Nick laughs, "You seem eager."

Do I? I just want to seem like a good friend. "No, I want to meet the woman who's making you so happy. So, tonight?"

Nick thinks it over, "Hey, I have an idea. Why don't you invite Taylor? We can have a double date. She'd be okay with that, right?" I nervously bite my lip. The tinkle in Nick's eye is as bright as the stars. He's so excited and I don't know how to tell him. Taylor will for sure say no. Since that thing with Alie, she'll never want to be seen in public with me again. In her house, that might be okay. Nick's pleading eyes bored into mine. Maybe I can just text her?

I sigh, "I can ask her. What did you have in mind?" Immediately, a giant smile stretches on his face. He digs in his Gucci jeans and finds his phone. Seconds later, Nick is typing away furiously. His head finally picks up and he looks at me.

"Do you want to go to the Knick's game? Michelle's dad is Carmelo's lawyer and he has court side seats whenever we want," Nick tries to persuade. I don't think Taylor is much of a sport's girl but I'll still ask. It never hurts to ask.

(Taylor's POV)

"I can't believe I'm going to a basketball game, I hate sports," I grumble. Lily and I are sitting in a town car she ordered for us. I'll admit when Lily first asked me to double date with her and her high school friends, my first response was going to be "no." Then she promised she would make it up to me later. Plus, she was kind of begging so I felt like me going was maybe important to her. Like the pushover, horny, and understanding girl I am, I'm now driving to a stupid basketball game.

Lily gives me a guilty smile and pecks me on the cheek. The darkness of the city is lit up by the many blinding lights. I lean my head on the window; the cool glass feels good on my forehead. I feel a tap on my shoulder and suspect it's Lily. I pick my head up and see we are here. Well, better get this over with. The Xanax I took before coming settles my nerves. I'm relying on the drug to make me relaxed enough to not fuck up this evening.
