(Taylor's POV)

"So if I wanted to get custody of my sister, would that be a wise thing to do?" I question my lawyer. His name is George and he has always had my back with legal stuff. Especially when the whole 'leaving Gossip Girl' thing happened, he expertly fought until the end for that.

I hear a long sigh and picture him running a hand over his balding head. The man has about five hairs but it's enough to say he isn't bald. "You know I always tell you the truth, right? This would be a very difficult and very long process. Being that your sister hasn't gone through any physical abuse and hasn't been diagnosed with any psychological problems, there's not much of a case. The court will see it as two sisters who got into a fight with their parents and want to live together while mommy and daddy still visit every other week."

"Yeah I figured. You've met my mother though George, she's crazy! I just can't have Sloane be put through that until she goes to college. It's not like she's a senior, you know? It's too much time." George and I exchange a few more words and he ends with a promise to look into it more. It's better than nothing. With Christmas being tomorrow, I just want everything to go as smooth as possible. As of now no talk about my mother. Her and my father decided to take a mini vacation with my aunt and uncle. Honestly, it seems more like my aunt dragging them out of the house because my mom's been a wreck and my dad doesn't know what to do. He said all she does is pace around the house and say to herself, "not my other baby too." Whatever that means.

As I put my new phone to charge, my little sister appears in front of me with two steaming mugs. "Coffee for you, hot chocolate for me," she smiles. I grab the hot mug and let the caffeine wake me up. Let's just say, the couch isn't the most comfortable and sleeping on it these past couple of nights has for sure fucked up my back. I also don't get much sleep. What makes it a little more bearable is that Petal likes to cuddle with me. I still can't believe Lily bought me her, it's the best gift I've ever gotten. She's like a little angel sent to make me smile whenever I look at her.

"So what's on the agenda for today?" Sloane questions. Today, is Christmas Eve which means I'll be hosting my own little soirée. Lily had invited me to come over but I figured with all of the decorating and Sloane being here, I might as well just ask the guys to come over so we can all eat food and drink. Minus Sloane, I am not turning into one of those cool moms that let their daughter's drink before 21. Sure, I did, but my mom wasn't fully aware of that. That and I had enough money and nerve to shut her up if she was under suspicion. Surprisingly, I never really got caught doing anything illegal while I was a minor. I was smart about what I was doing. Unlike that Bieber kid, I know not to let people take pictures of me smoking weed.

I tell Sloane the plan and she gets all excited. This is her first "adult" party where mom and dad aren't there or just a sleepover with her friends. I don't know if her big sister counts but I'll let her have her fun. "Are we going to have to cook?" Sloane laughs. She knows I can't cook, and I know she can't cook. There would be no more human life if Sloane and I decided to cook for real.

Taking another sip I chuckle, "That's what caterers are for. Besides, it's just the guys. It won't be a big thing." Sloane nods and heads upstairs to take a shower. I retreat back to lying on the couch with Petal sleeping on my chest. What a precious creature. I have two of my three favorite things with me right now. If only Lily was here.

At seven, my friends start piling through the door all with presents in hand. Confusion follows them as they notice the very "straight out of a catalog" appearance my home has seemed to take on. The usual messiness seemed to have disappeared and is now replaced with Christmas decoration and all around, less black. An overly decorated tree stands in the corner in place of my guitars. "Um hey guys," Ben greets and scratches his head. He turns to the rest of the guys but they all shrug. Sloane and I make our rounds hugging everyone. Neither of them decided to dress any nicer than how they would on an everyday basis. Although, Alie does have a ncie sweater on. She's also sporting a giant smile. It's most likely because Lily isn't here.
