"What are you doing ?", Welkin Delure asked the 11 year-old lazy-looking boy sitting next to him. "What do you mean?", replied Drix Ravenhowl holding a book titled 'Herbology'. "Are you...READING THE TEXTBOOK?!", Welkin asked his friend surprised. "What..... but you know I like reading, so I'm reading" he answered with a pinch or sarcasm in his voice. "Yeah, but we're on the train trip to Hogwarts ", he answered " you should be taking in the view and experience". "I'll be seeing the view and all of that for another six to seven years", Drix replied "I'm sure I won't be missing much". " Your loss", Welkin answered before looking out the window to look at the well-debated view. Drix then returned to the book and read about mandrakes before facing back at his friend "The difference is uncanny for sure", he said under his breath. "What're you looking at ?", Welkin protested, catching Drix looking at him " Nah, nothing ", Drix answered nonchalantly. A voice from the opposite side of the compartment exclaimed, "Wooooooahhhhh!", Taylor Elddri said looking at her companion performing the Levitating Charm "how'd you do that ?". "My parents taught me some basic charms as preparation ", Zoe Finkle answered, keeping her eyes on the book that she was levitating. The book swished and swayed in the air as if it was held up by invisible strings." What are you excited to see at Hogwarts ?", Zoe asked quizzically as the book fell, its strings cut. "I'm really excited to see what house I'm in, quidditch, charms class, potions, transfiguration an-", Taylor said as Zoe interrupted "I asked for the one you're MOST interested in, not to list everything at Hogwarts, numpty ". "I can't say though", she answered " I'm just so excited". "Classic Taylor", implied Zoe jokingly. "Hey! You said you wouldn't use that after we left the station", Taylor rebutted. "We already left, now we're ON THE WAY", Zoe tried answering smartly. " Hmph", Taylor pouted "cheat".

The four friends continued with friendly banter, jokes and Zoe showing off more spells. The atmosphere almost as how it was when they were mere children. Welkin had met Drix when they were toddlers and practically grew up together like brothers. Taylor and Zoe had met Drix and Welkin shortly after, as Zoe's parents were the Mr and Mrs Ravenhowls good friend. The four of them, no matter how different they were, stuck together like family. Drix and his dry humour always brought some smiles to the group, Zoe being in an interesting wizarding family always had a cool item or artifact to show off and play with. Taylor on the other hand was always the sportsperson of the four friends and would triumph in any sport except wizard's chess, which Drix was proficient in. Welkin was the life of the group. He was never at the top but he never got disheartened and did his best. He was the reality and was always there for the others like when he helped Drix who had lost his pet rat, Dots and stayed at Drix's place for a week until Drix was back to his normal self. Back in the Hogwarts Express they played some Exploding Snap and ate some of Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans and laughed about it when Drix got dirt flavor and almost lost his breakfast.

Then a knock on the compartment sliding doors took the attention of everyone, even Drix who had returned to reading his textbook.
It was Salem Xest.
The smug look on his face mixed with his brand new robes and combed hair were enough to break the composure of any sane being and frustrate them to no end. "Why're you here Salem?", grunted Zoe with displeasure. "Well, well, well, a ragtag group of mudbloods and purebloods if I do say so myself", chimed Salem with a smirk. Welkin's face flushed with anger and proceeded to get up when Drix stopped him. "So, you came all the way to say that?", Zoe replied, flushed red herself. "No, not exactly", Salem complied "I also came to say that I hope we're all in different houses so I can stomp you all to the ground myself", he smirked. "You stomping anyone in your heels will feel like an ant bite, girlie", Drix rebutted. "Hmph, let's see you try to fly before I shoot you down, Ravenhowl ", Salem claimed before walking off angrily.

As Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, with its massive towers and turrets emerged from the horizon, the first-years were piling on the windows peering at their school for the years to come. " It's....it's amazing...", Taylor blurted in awe. Even Drix was amazed by the sight of the colossal school. As the train arrived at the station, the students stepped out into the cold, misty night. A giant of a man with beetle-like eyes was waiting with a swaying lantern that lit up the misty area around the landing. "Firs' years! Firs' years follo' me", said the gargantuan, shaggy figure. Hagrid led the first-years through the fog as their murmurs filled the air. "No more'n four to a boat !", Hagrid called out upon reaching a fleet of little boats at the harbor. "Everyone strapped in alright ?", Hagrid said. Upon hearing nothing he continued "Right then- FORWARD!", he called out. The little boats started to sail forward with Hagrid's in the lead forming a triangular formation, sailing towards the castle. As the mist parted, the rest of the colossal castle came into view, making all the students gasp in awe. The boats slowly drifted into a harbor in the school. Hagrid then led the students to the front of the castle. Two large oak doors towering even over Hagrid stood before the students. Then the two doors flung open and a man was standing there. He had long, black, combed hair with a long robe. "Who's that ?", Welkin asked Drix while still keeping eye contact. Drix only shrugged and added "Dunno". Taylor cut in with pure enthusiasm "That is Felton Cor", she answered "he's the head disciplinarian at Hogwarts". "Wait, I thought the Cor family was a family of Aurors?", Zoe cut in curiously. "Felton Cor was an Auror before he moved to Hogwarts ", continued Taylor. "Thank you Hagrid, I'll take them from here", Felton said as he dismissed Hagrid. Hagrid nodded respectfully before treading off. "Well then, follow me", Professor Felton called to the new students and led them into the castle. The hustle and bustle of the other students signified that the rest of the student body was already in the school.
