Chapter 42-The Sewers

Dave eats quietly with the rest of them as Sheba is still in bed. They're in a safe house where the man, Kaleb, is providing them with food, clothes, and a fresh bed. Sheba takes a shower and Kaleb's wife helps Sheba dress. Joshua is laying on the lounge and sleeps. Dave finishes his food and takes the elevator towards the training room. Angelica, the lions, Sam, and Jon are each taking out the dummies that are used for training. They stop when Dave enters and look at him wearily. "Hey guys," says Dave as he picks up a rock.

Jon walks up to him and hands him something. "Since you're still not used to your powers, here's something that can help you handle them better."

It's a sling. 

"Um, Jon?"

"Yeah?"

"How do I use this?"

Jon smiles and shows him. Dave gets the hang of it and starts practicing with the others. Sam grabs a club and presses a button. Holograms appear out of nowhere and start attacking them. Sam slams his club on one and charges through like an elephant.

Jon takes down several holograms with his arrows, Angelica quickly lights the holograms up and Dave uses the sling to inaccurately hit them. Jon sees the frustration on his face and goes towards him. He patiently stops the training and shows Dave again. "Why do I even need this? This won't help with anything."

"Yes, it will. It will help with your accuracy, which you need if you don't want to waste your ammo."

Dave thinks for a second before sending a rock into a hologram's face, breaking the hologram. "Nice shot," says Jon.

"Hey kids, can you come up for a bit," shouts Joshua.

They go upstairs and see Sheba eating some cereal. She looks at Dave and gives a small smile before going back to eating. "We need to discuss our plan."

"What plan? What plan can get us to defeating Beelzebub? I mean he has his army all over Chicago," shouts Dave.

Joshua waits for him to calm down and says, "We have some intel on where Beelzebub is. Dave had a vision about a whole army of infected in the sewers. So if he is right about this, Beelzebub is more likely in the sewer, hiding from us."

"What if he already knows about the vision. I mean he's a fallen angel after all."

"He may have more knowledge than a human being but he's not powerful," replies Jon.

Dave looks at Angelica who shrugs her shoulders. "You think us angels are gods. We're not. We only know so much just like you."

Sheba suddenly gets up and shakes her head. Joshua and Angelica start to cover her in a divine shield. But Sheba gives a screech and sends them towards the door with immense strength. "L-leave!"

Suddenly she collapses on the ground and stays there. Joshua rubs his head and says, "It's getting worse. Take her into the room and strap her down until we find Beelzebub and bring him down."

Sam takes her away and Angelica says, "I'll stay. To keep her in a stable form."

She leaves them as they supply themselves with weapons. Joshua hugs Kaleb and he gives him some keys. "This should help you get to your destination a little quicker."

Joshua takes the keys and the rest follows except for Dave. He walks into Sheba's room and Angelica is already covering her. "Is she going to be ok?"

"Don't blame yourself, Dave. She'll be fine."

Angelica gives him a smile before returning to her work. Dave turns around and follows the others outside. They hop into the convertible and drive off.
