Chapter 48-That's odd?

Beelzebub, in fly form, zips through the sewer and lands on his throne. A large pile of . . . waste. But he enjoys it as several infected come into the room. They drop Sam and Joshua on the floor.

"Wake him."

Joshua is smacked until he wakes up, struggling to get up. Sam looks at the ground as if something has spooked him. That's odd. Beelzebub changes into his physical form and walks down the pile.

"Well well well. If it isn't the commander himself and his little bodybuilder. This was too easy."

"We'll stop you. You'll never get away with this," snarls Joshua.

"That's strange because you guys are trapped in a cocoon."

Joshua stops struggling and looks at Sam.

"What's up with him? It looks like he was spooked."

Suddenly Sam starts yelling. He yells really loudly as he struggles to get out. Beelzebub watches as the infected cover their ears. Joshua rolls away from the infected and hits something sharp. He starts rubbing on it until the cocoon pops. He's cover in slime but he grabs his sword and cuts through an infected.

Sam bumps into an infected as Beelzebub watches the whole thing. Joshua cuts open the cocoon and Sam swings his club at Beelzebub. But it steps aside and rips the club from his hands.

"Nice try pretty boy but I'm still the best."

With that, it sends Sam through the sewer's wall. Joshua tries to help but Beelzebub walks up to him and sends a claw into his stomach.

"No!"

Sam tries to get up but several infected hold him down. Joshua looks at the wound and slumps onto the ground.

"You humans are weak."

A humanoid walks through the hole in the wall and waits for its master's command. "Get ready. The invasion starts now."

With that Beelzebub gives a loud screech louder than the Tunguska meteor. Sam covers his ears and moves away from the demon prince. Beelzebub stops and it hears the cries of the thousands of infected.

"You better get moving, boy," grins Beelzebub before going into flies form and leaving.

Sam quickly pours some holy water on Joshua's wound and helps him up. "We need to move now!"

Joshua nods his head and with the help of Sam starts moving away from the sound of infected.

Dave hears a loud scream and covers his ears. Where is that coming from? Suddenly the infected following him stop moving and goes the other direction.

"Wait! No!"

Dave turns also and follows them. He pulls out his sword and hits the last infected, causing it to fall. He swings at it and its head rolls. Dave continues to mow down the infected as they try to get to Jon but they run past the spot where Jon was. Dave sees the same spot and realizes that there is no Jon. How is that possible. . . unless. Dave shakes his head and starts running with them.

Sheba follows the humanoid when suddenly a scream fills her ears. They both start running at super speed to the sewers. Sheba tries to cover her ears but Elisa's power is slowly fading. Soon she'll succumb to Beelzebub's control.

Bob, the exterminator, is having a rough day in Chicago. There had been to many calls of flies all over people's houses and it is getting worse. Sometimes he wishes that he could be something else than an exterminator. But right now he has to go Mrs. Dawson's house to get rid of the pesky flies.

Just as he begins to start the car a scream louder than any other scream that he has heard before—besides Mrs.Dawson's—fills the air and causes him to stumble.

"What the heck was that," shouts Bob's manager.

"I don't know sure but it is sure loud!"

The scream finally stops but his ears still ring. "Well whatever that was, it has finally stopped. Go on Bob."

"Yes, sir."

Bob gets in his car and drives off, not seeing a cloud of flies seeping into his job's building.
