.
From the moment Eira had laid eyes on her little boy, she had realised if true love existed in this world, this was it.
He was tiny and timid, so shy and so calm.
"Um'-" He whispered to her and she looked down at her boy.
"Yes baby?" She murmured down at him.
"You want me to pick you up?" She asked him, knowing that he was afraid of crowds.
The little boy nodded, asking to be held up.
They were at a charity event today, an event arranged by her husband.
Faris came over towards his family and took Hani from Eira's arms, he kissed his cheek and then guided Eira to the front table.
Hani sat comfortably on his father's lap and Eira? She was too busy smiling at them.
They looked beautiful together.
That was true love. A love between a father and his son, a mother and her daughter, love between siblings.
That's true love.
Four years.
Four years is a very long time. Time heals all the wounds, atleast from the outside. Time is what changes everything.
And for Eira, she was lucky time did her well.
A psychologist, a mother, a wife. Life hadn't been so unkind to her after that incident.
But it had done her one damage, She didn't believe she could love someone the way she had loved him, she was too scared, too worried, too afraid. But she loved Faris, more than anything but every single day she also was mentally prepared to be heartbroken if something ever went wrong.
It was her paranoia obviously, Faris would never hurt her.
In the past four years, Eira had completed her degree after coming back to Dubai, had tried to make her family proud after making them go through utter humiliation.
She had met Faris the same way. He wasn't from her ethnicity, wasn't the same race as her.
But he was a nice man, with a good heart. He had courage and he was kind.
Faris had lost his wife and being an Emirati man, he had his family's pressure to get married again. Other than that, he had a little baby too, just a few months old.
Eira hadn't agreed at first, How could she? She had stopped believing in marriage.
Eira couldn't marry someone after going through the trauma that she had gone through. But Faris was traumatised enough too..He had also been the victim of life's unjust ways and thus, Eira decided..maybe if they both tied the knot, they might fix each other.
And they did.
And so it felt right, to get married to a respectful man, live a good life and have no expectations attached to her. To get healed and to start a life, with or without love..she didn't know.
Her and Faris became good friends at the start. They got to know each other, they tried to heal each other, And that's what mattered.
They loved each other, they would do anything for each other and they were happy. Together.
Some times, it occured to Eira that she might even be in love with him more than her first love. She believed it was right too, she had lost her purity to this man, she had taken shelter in his arms, she had made a safe haven in his intimacy..so maybe, she loved him more than she thought she was capable of.
