"What?"
Faris questioned. I inhaled a deep breath. How could I tell him what I had just seen?
"Virat-look Donuts!" Eira yelled suddenly, glancing at the dunkin donuts shop.
"Oh my God Eira! I have never seen a donut shop before. Is that how Dunkin Donuts look?" Virat, being a sarcastic one responded and laughed.
"Shut up yar. Can we please get some? I love donuts." She told him. It was one of the many things he came to know about her.
"Look at you opening up, pehle to hotel se bhi nahin nikalna tha." Virat commented.
"So what? Send your driver na." She encouraged him.
"Bring two for us and a box of six, separately please." She requested him, he nodded and left the car.
The driver came back soon enough with a box of donuts, and another packet in his hand.
He handed them over to the new friends, and both of them dug in the food. Her double chocolate and Virat's simple one, along with sprinkles for her.
Eira ate the donut like she was craving it for a long time, that or she just really liked food.
"I'll admit, because of you I'll have to be at the gym for an hour or two extra." Virat commented.
"I'll admit, You're no fun." Eira said back.
"I'll admit, you're really not funny." He murmured.
"I'll admit, you are a jerk." She shot back.
Before Virat could say anything else, she ate another bite of the donut and the chocolate sauce was all over her upper lip and sides.
"I'll admit, you have chocolate on your mouth." He informed, in amusement.
She frowned in confusion and then used the napkin to clean the sides of her mouth.
"No-Eira, above your lips." Virat tried to help her.
She tried again, and this time removed a little from over her upper lip.
"Ho gaya?" She asked again.
He used his napkin and moved forward, her breath hitched a little but she kept her eyes steady. Virat smelled her scent for the first time that day.
It was peach and something else he couldn't quite recognize. She looked into his eyes as he used the napkin and cleaned the chocolate.
His hand touched her cheek a little, unintentionally. Her cheeks turned red and she hid a gasp, her eyes staring into Virat's.
I re lived that moment again. Was that it? Did my heart really want this? After all this time, after everything that had happened?
Him?
I looked at Faris' who was expecting me to actually reply truthfully. I owed him that. So I spoke it. The truth.
"I see, I see myself eating donuts..with him."
I responded, he closed his eyes for a few moments, then opened them and gave me a small smile.
"See. You've already made your choice."
He replied. A sudden feeling of desperation came over me after that. Faris was all I had for so long. A constant reminder of my happiness, my comfort. Leaving him would mean leaving all of that. But he had already left me? Had he not? But he was giving me a choice?
