VIRAT
It had been a hectic day for captain Virat Kohli.
With the WorldCup coming around soon and his thirty second birthday, which was already a day that the whole indian nation celebrated, he had to do alot of press.
The constant pressure of being asked the same damn questions was really hard.
But Virat was The Virat Kohli. He didn't have any other choice other than just simply being confident and perfect.
Virat sighed and rubbed his hands on his face. He looked at the vice captain of the team, Rohit Sharma.
Rohit smirked at Virat as they made their way to the stage, that was graced with tables, chairs and microphones.
"Ready, captain?" Rohit questioned Virat who nodded his head in affirmation and walked away.
"I was born ready." Virat answered with a shrug and sat on the front chair.
And then it all started.
After the greeting session, all the reporters came straight to the serious questions.
"Virat, you're 32 and fit as ever. But a few guys in the team, younger than you are having fitness issues. Is that going to cost team India?"
"If a player isn't fit enough, he wouldn't be included in the world cup squad. Simple." Virat answered curtly.
"What are your plans for the world cup? Strategies?"
"Work hard, practice and just give your best out there. There's no place in the team for slackers." Virat responded, making the reporters nod their heads.
They had gotten used to his to the point, straight and slightly rude answers.
"What are your thoughts on the India Pakistan match?"
Virat didn't answer the question. Rohit came forward and did it for him.
"It's the same as any other match. We work just as hard as on any other match day. There's no rivalry or anything." Rohit responded.
"Virat, Rohit, how are you both going to balance your personal life with so much pressure of the world cup?" A female reporter questioned.
Rohit took a deep breath.
"I think my family has gotten used to this routine, the pressure so there's no balancing there at all." He answered.
Everyone waited for Virat next.
"I think my personal life is none of any one's business." Virat answered with an arrogant look on his face.
Everyone straightened their posture. The captain of the team had gotten so rude through out the years and yet so good at his game that people didn't know whether to complain or not.
"Does he even have one?" Virat heard a whisper and he sighed.
I had one until you all destroyed it. Virat wanted to yell, instead he glared at the person who had said that and stood up from his seat.
He didn't have time for drama.
"My team and I are capable enough of winning, we are prepared, fit and we know how to work hard. We will bring the world cup home, and we know the nation will support us. I, being the captain of the team can assure you of that. If my personal life could make us win the world cup then I would have told it all to you. Thanks for having us." Virat ended the press, only after fifteen minutes of it's start and walked away.
