I think about happy things,

I let my imagination take me on journeys,

Places that, lord knows, I wouldn't dare to speak of,

For my pockets are empty and my life's in tatters,

But, for a moment, I let my mind go wild,

And in that moment I'm not tired,

And I'm not hungry, of course

Only on occasions

Anticipating,

For when you'll ruin my life

It's inevitable,

Very predictable,

That you'll ruin my life

But I can't criticise,

I am one to roll the dice,

So you can ruin my life

Weeks and months go by,

May, June and July,

They go faster than light's speed,

Move faster than a falcon's wings,

But all I can do is to stare at your hair,

Shiny and bronze-like under the scorching sun,

I can almost see the future in your dreamy locks,

The future in which I'm genuinely happy and smiling,

All I can do is to stare at your hands,

Soft gentle yet anchor-steady,

And I can see my future family,

We have a dog or maybe even two,

With a baby that looks just like you,

All I can do is to stare at your smile,

Reassuring and warm like fire,

And I can just tell from the way you look at me,

We'll be sweethearts together,

Forever and ever,

And the night will be our platform

Where we perform scenes of our passionate love,

Where I can be Romeo and you can be my Juliet,

But our closing scene will be a happy one,

For our love story is merely

A portion of my fantasies,
