Recap.......Allonia pulled the white knob of the wooden drawer in the kitchen and took out a knife. Her hands trembled presistently as she got the sharp bladed shiny silver knife closer to her left wrist.
Chapter 5
Meanwhile, Becca got up to drink water and placed her hand on the pillow beside her. Instead of finding Allonia, she found the cool linen sheet laying beside her. Becca anxiously woke up and headed outside of the room. She ran downstairs restlessly but it was too late. Allonia was on the ground with a sharp silver knife in her right hand and her otherhand was covered in crimson coloured blood. Becca stared at the gory scene, she briskly walked towards Allonia with her heart in her mouth.
"Are you okay?" asked Becca as her voice faded. She held Allonia's face in her arm, the rosy colour of her cheeks was slowly draining away into a dull pale.
"I'm okay!" replied Allonia as she vigoriously tried to catch her breath. She was breathing heavily, her chest trying to rise up before falling down again, unable to bear the weight of her body while her soul just wanted to be extricated.
"No you are not, I'm going to call Abdullah immediately," corrected Becca as she placed Allonia's head on the biting hard floor. She got out her phone and tried to act confident.
"Thank you Becca, please don't do this to me, let me at least die in peace please , I beg you!" chocked Allonia in a whisper gasping for breathe.
Becca didn't say anything, she dialed Abdullah's number and asked him to get an ambulance immediately.
"I'll be there in ten minutes,"replied Abdullah.
Becca held Allonia hand firmly and caressed it with her thumb, yelling at her "Allonia, please don't close your eyes, please don't!" Allonia tried to breathe but it was getting harder, the blood vessel she had cut on her left hand was bleeding incessantly. The blood was shining in the moonlight that was peeking through the house. Shortly, the door bell rang, Becca ran to open the door knocking it off its hinges almost. Finally, pushing the door a cold breeze blew in to the room taking away the warmth in the numb teen's body. Abdullah quickly stepped in guiding the nurses into the house to the kitchen where Allonia was lying on the ground. As the nurses laid Allonia onto the gurney, Becca yelled at them as she went closer to help them, "Can't you be careful, the poor girl is bleeding heavily, be careful!"
Abdullah grabbed Becca's arm and pulled her back from Allonia. "Don't worry, I'm right beside you and I will make everything right, I promise," said Abdullah. Becca stared at Abdullah for a few seconds but then fleetly hugged him, "Thank you" she whimpered as she tried to make a sound of the words she was mouthing,
Becca and Abdullah walked out of the house right behind Allonia, Becca slided her fingers in the young teen's hoping to find warmth. The couple hurried out of the house and shutting the door behind them, getting into Abdullah's car and following the flashing red lights of the ambulance. They ran behind the stature Allonia was being carried own into the hospital, the nurses took her into the emergency room and asked Becca them to wait outside. The two of them sat there, praying for Allonia, looking around at the hopeless faces of people sitting in the deadly silent hallway that said the words no one wanted to. Abdullah left Becca after a few hours while she was lost in her thoughts, her face buried in her palms covered with tears. He finally came back after a few minutes, "Here, eat something, it's already morning you haven't had anything since last night," he replied softly handing Becca some food as he glanced outside the window at the shining rays of the sun. These sun rays were gloomy and just highlighted the sadness and anxiousness present in the hallway outside the ICU, enlightening every second that was passing by, wondering what was happening beyond these closed doors or if anything was happening at all.
"I'm not Hungry Abdullah, thanks," replied Becca as she glanced at the door of the emergency room in aspiration to find the doctor or a nurse. Abdullah didn't force Becca, he just placed the food on the abandoned icy seat beside him along with his food. As they were waiting, Abdullah saw a young weak boy staring towards the abandoned seat beside Abdullah at the food. He quietly picked up the food and walked towards the boy,
"Here you look hungry," he said handing the food over.
"I can have all of it?" asked the little boy as his eyes sparkled.
"Yeah you can and please pray for my sister who's in the emergency room right now," replied Abdullah glancing towards the empty door.
"Don't worry, your sister will be fine, I'm waiting for my dad to get better too," replied the boy hopefully. Abdullah smiled at the boy, he turned around and found the doctor closing the emergency door behind him. He swiftly walked behind Becca who was sprinting towards the doctor.
"Is Allonia alright?" questioned Becca quickly hopeful to hear a convincing reply as she caught her breathe.
"She's alright for now but she's in coma. It's going to be very hard for us to save her. By the time you got her here, she had lost a lot of blood," replied the doctor as he started to walk away. "And can I have you guys in my room to discuss the reports of the patient", he replied as he turned around. Abdullah nodded in agreement.
"Come on, let's go," whispered Abdullah to Becca. The pair entered the room quietly and sat down at the two cold chairs in front of the doctor. A dusty name plate saying "Dr. Smith" was placed onto the table beside a glass of water behind it was the raven colored hair doctor in a white coat with a promising beam plastered at his face.
"We are trying our best to save Allonia but it is going to be very hard, she doesn't even want to live and once a person loses the will power it becomes impossible for us to help them. I want you guys to convince her that she needs to survive. She's a young girl who can do so much with her life, it is very important for her to survive," said the doctor looking at Becca and Abdullah who listened attentively.
"Would you mind allowing me to see her?" asked Becca grievously.
"Sure, you may see her if you will to but only one of you please. We don't want her to get overwhelmed by a lot of people," replied Dr. Smith assuringly.
"God bless you!"exclaimed Becca as she headed out the door without waiting for an answer back and ran into the sinister emergency room.
