"Ma'am you can't keep that bag in your lap, you have to place it in the compartment which has your seat number. Can I please see your ticket?" asked the woman who was dressed in a red uniform. Allonia nodded and handed the air hostess her ticket.

"Oh sweetie, you are actually sitting on the wrong seat, your seat is in the 'G' section, come on I'll show you your seat," replied the woman as she guided Allonia towards the back. She walked Allonia over to her seat and showed her the compartment she could put her luggage in and asked her to wait for further instructions. After a few minutes, another air hostess appeared in front of the airplane and started giving instructions about how to wear your belt and how to escape in case of fire or any other emergencies. Allonia followed what the man beside her did. He seemed to be in his mid-30s wearing a very nice black suit.

Then, she saw another air hostess and looked around confusedly, "Why are all these women wearing the same clothes," she asked herself. She just ignored the woman and thought that it was probably a coincidence. She sat there for a whole hour observing other people and trying to count how many people were in the airplane but then she got very bored so she started reading a magazine that was placed in a pocket behind the seat in front of her. Later, the air hostess came to her and asked what she wanted to eat, Allonia politely answered and while taking the food she noticed a man calling the woman an air hostess. As she ate the food, she wondered why the man had called the woman an air hostess. Then she heard a girl calling another woman in the red uniform an air hostess as well. She tried to break down the words for herself. So air is in the atmosphere and this airplane is traveling in the air and a hostess is someone who serves. She quickly had an epiphany that the woman were called air hostess because they served in an airplane. After eating the meal, she spent the rest of the time sleeping.

"All passengers, we will be reaching the destination in half an hour!" announced a voice. Allonia rapidly got up after hearing the announcement and followed what the other people around her did. Soon the airplane landed and a wave of excitement and nervousness ran through Allonia. She got her bag out of the compartment like the others and took out all her documents.

While Becca and Abdullah were going back to Becca's house an anonymous silence filled the car. This was Becca's only friend here in Syria and she didn't even know him anymore. Finally Becca broke the silence, "Abdullah what were those documents about?" He looked around nervously debating whether he should answer her or ignore. After a few minutes he suddenly pulled the car to a side. He shifted from his seat looking straight at Becca, his face was facing Becca but his eyes were unable to meet hers.

"Abdullah.....," she said in a whisper. He finally looked up his mysterious eyes colliding with Becca's warm eyes.

"Becca, Allonia's mom isn't dead, she's alive in Jordon," he replied in a low tone.

A confused look appeared on Becca's face. Was she supposed to be happy that Allonia's mom was alive or sad because she'd just seperated a mother from her child? And if she was alive, hoe come her own daughter did not know? A train of thoughts ran through her mind suddenly getting off track by Abdullah's voice. "And she's my aunt so I am Allonia's cousin."
